I left the US in 2019 after living there for 23 years. Turns out that for the frequency of their discharges of firearms toddlers are considered "well-regulated militia"; school children, cafe patrons, churchgoers, and mall shoppers are Constitutional threats because why else would they be shot, with their hands full or attention elsewhere; but some doddering, compromised, convicted felon running for nation leadership and a mostly conservative Supreme Court are no cause for anxiety and no impetus to preserve freedom and liberty, according to a large number of Americans. Either that, or collective untreated mental illness has accumulated over the last quarter-century in the U.S.

Gail Lumet Buckley, author who chronicled her family history in two volumes, died 18 July, aged 86. Not insignificantly, the family is the Horne family, whose number included Buckley's mother, Lena. The Lumet in her name is from director Sidney, to whom she was once married.

Who cares? Seriously. Let people talk amongst themselves. I don't find myself agreeing with Windsor often but he is 100% right here. A huge part of what makes this forum the place it is that it's a great place to find information and the banter amongst ourselves also does that. I dunno what this sudden change is about. Has someone told you that you are been considered for mod on this site? For real, this site isn't losing anything by having a relaxed enforcement of on topic rules. I don't see any threads anywhere about how deathlist is losing it credibility because of off topic discussion. The only thing I do see this site losing is visitors if you ever become mod here. Like seriously, a site can become so overmoderated that people lose interest.
