The Windy City is mighty pretty but it ain't got any teams containing Doris Day!!

I'm too young to really know her and her acting career, but her voice is legendary through these songs. RIP.

The last person mentioned in 'Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee' to go. Sad news. I'd hoped she make 100.

Ooofftt - was peeking through my fingers but looks like more than 3 people had Doris even higher than I did!

Makes me so sad I'll never travel back in time, see Alec Guinness in the street and shout "hey! Obi! It's you innit?" at him.

There's really only one person from Star Wars that was a bona fide DL miss and he'd be furious if he read this post given I just described him as "person from Star Wars".

There's panic, and then there's realising at midnight that you forgot to put the glass bin out.

BBC breaking - they've doubtless got loads of content ready on this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-48257670 They do, however, omit saying that DL now needs a poll on the third casualty of the year

Hit no 2 https://www.fox19.com/2019/05/13/hollywood-legend-doris-day-dies-age/ .I am sad she was the 2nd hit. There are somany people I would rather have gone, still 97 was a good innings I suppose. Her portrayal of Calamity Jane will forever stick in my mind as a childhood memory. She may even have been my first crush !

Walden on Weekend World was fascinating though. It was one of the few programmes a truly young me would tune into. Could be a bit sycophantic to people he agreed with, but he knew the power of silence in an interview. Emily Maitlis and Andrew Marr and the rest could learn the value of not interrupting your political interviewee. Let your question be good and let your words hang in the air. Let your respectful tone sucker your guest into believing you are trying to be on their side and allow them to hang themselves high on the gibbet of their own folly. He really was very good at what he did.

MMMDP Form Guide #29 George Alagiah Battling bowel cancer but reports hereabouts have fingered his festering colon as the site of a losing battle. Back in front of cameras of late and likely an outside bet to spiral down to death within the next few weeks. But...stranger things have happened and he has reported on them.

Two more possible hits for you, as Granville Coggs and Mary Stopes-Roe await confirmation or a QO. The former had an interesting life, let's see if it's enough. The latter should come with time.

Everyday my 90 year old neighbour who has alzhiemers knocks on my door and asks me if I've seen his wife . And everyday I have to tell that 90 year old man his wife has been long dead . You know I have thought of not answering the door I have even thought about moving house . But you know it's worth it, each time just to see the smile on his face..
