DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted April 16, 2019 Some of Elton John's backing band - Davey Johnson (guitar), Nigel Olsson (drums) and Ray Cooper (percussion) - have been performing with him for the best part of fifty years and are probably all highly obitable in their own right. No idea about their health though. I can't say I'm a great admirer of his work, but am guessing he must be a good boss to have inspired such loyalty from his troops. YoungWillz 21,033 Posted July 29, 2019 So here's another song where the late Doris Day was mentioned. Unlucky 13 survivors of Elton's hilarious Wrap Her Up: Brigitte Bardot Billie Jean King Samantha Fox Joan Collins Kiki Dee Grace Jones Priscilla Presley Vanessa Williams Petula Clark Julie Andrews Annie Lennox Natassja Kinski Princess Caroline of Monaco Not sure who Doris Franfield or Pat Verness are, but I'm guessing these were names Elton and George Michael had for each other. Possibly. Knowing the pair of them. Those guys.... Edit: Actually listened to the extended mix and Anouska Hempel is definitely mentioned, so make that 14 survivors. Never rely on lyrics sites, YW, never.

gcreptile 10,966 Posted October 27, 2019 I forgot to post it, but his mother-in-law died last week. Toast might have a good hunch and maybe it's related to David Furnish. Edit: Ah, the article mentioned that death.

Pun intended I do think he is burning the candle at both ends and needs to be careful. harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,688 Posted July 12, 2020 I'm not a big fan of the old woofter's (not allowed to say that these days , am I. Sorry, sorry) tunes, but as I'm a sucker for rock autobios full of tittle tattle I'm currently enjoying 'Me'. While he was never at Keef levels of druggy debauchery, it's still surprising he made it through the 70s/80s if even half those anecdotes are true.
