Here is the tweet from their account which announces the death, maybe we'll have to wait for another source to provide an obituary.

Whitehouse 872 Posted September 18, 2017 I fucking hate that song! I was eight years old and it was playing every hour on the radio.

I actually hate Chicago as a whole, but only because of the anus vocals that sound like Chad Kroeger trying to do a Pee Wee Herman impression.

Toast 16,140 Posted September 18, 2017 Well, it was on the bloody radio all the time following the sudden and traumatic death of a friend, so you can probably understand where I'm coming from.
themaninblack 2,112 Posted September 18, 2017 I think it's a nice cheesy song but whenever I see their TV appearance from 1976 performing it, I always think "that's why punk had to happen..."

To be fair - really early Chicago were an ambitious bunch hell-bent on pushing the same limits the likes of Blood, Sweat and Tears were pushing; it's just that hits and radio play were essential because there were so fucking many of them on stage; so the blanding out was inevitable.

bladan 293 Posted September 21, 2017 Is there already a thread for completely dead rock bands? I mean bands like Jimi Hendrix Experience or Emerson, Lake & Powell? Which band will be next – Bee Gees?

The Stooges is also close to it.
