Otis Williams, Little Richard and Smokey Robinson all seem ok too...but you never know.

Or it could just be Nick Kamen from another Levis commercial.

Just saw this - OMG, just 59.

Caught his death in a launderette? Something in his genes? (Yeah, bring them all on).

Too young though and too early for a TOTP theme team pick. By one year.

Oh, so he was the one who sang on "I Promised Myself". A perennial radio number here in Germany.

Oh :o

I never liked "I promised myself" but I deeply adore "Each time you break my heart", one of the finest pop tunes of the 80s for me.

Kamen rose to fame in a jeans commercial, which showed him arrive at a launderette and strip down to his boxer shorts as several women looked on ....

[The advert] also caught the attention of [Madonna], who told the BBC at the time she had been taken by Kamen's "charisma" and "beautiful voice".

Yeah, right.

I much preferred 'I Promised Myself' and I'm not surprised it did well in Europe. A more subtle melody than his big hit but more effective for it I think.

Well I imagine it begins with A, ends in s and has di in the middle.

But this is a massive death - a legend of the 1980s. He even got a tribute from Tanita Tikaram!

Bryan Hennessey, co-founder of the St. John's, Newfoundland rockers the Wonderful Grand Band, has died. He was 72. A piano and electric bass player, Hennessey co-founded the band with, among others, Ron Hynes, whose name appeared in a couple of threads leading up to his own death.

Reports on Twitter & Facebook that Jaz Coleman of Killing Joke is recovering in hospital after some form of strange boating / fishing accident.

Edit with link https://louderthanwar.com/jaz-coleman-hospitalised-after-boating-accident/

The article says he’s fine.  Since it isn’t a disease, there was literally no reason to post the story on our boards.

There was also no reason to use the word "literally" in that sentence.
