I have stopped watching Eastenders reguarly now but what I do remember is that June filmed one whole episode in one scene I believe many years ago.

Lol! When Mike Reid died suddenly in 2007  they waited until a year later in 2008 to kill of his character Frank Butcher after consultation with his family and being sensitive to their feelings. 

I guess it will depend what Junes family say but I could imagine it being similar situation were it takes the best part of a year roughly to kill the character off.

I thought June was fantastic as Dot Cotton and probably much better than the soap deserved. The Dot and Ethel episode is still a highlight from the early days. However she was brilliantly cast as Nanny Slagg in the BBC adaptation of Gormanghast where she played the character with indulgence, fragility but also cunning determination being one of the few that saw through Steerpike.

 

If you haven't seen it, it is worth chasing down not only for June but John Sessions, Christopher Lee, Fiona Shaw and Spike Milligan's final role
