RolandDeschain 91 Posted August 29, 2016 I agree - I had a feeling that he wouldn't live a very long time with the news about his health recently but thought he'd see 2017. I just find it incredible how many celebrities are going this year and yet we're only up to 7 on the death list, especially when you consider the longevity and recurring health conditions of many of them! Lewd_Squirrel 331 Posted August 29, 2016 Such a sad loss, & another hit, for me. Making it a rare occurence, where I now have more hits, than the main list.
chiesa52 132 Posted August 29, 2016 Just missed it! So sad, I loved him in Young Frankenstein, The Producers and other Mel Brooks movies- now he's with Gilda! http://boston.cbslocal.com/2016/08/29/gene-wilder-dead-83-willy-wonka-mel-brooks/
The Unknown Man 584 Posted August 29, 2016 RIP. I loved him in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Blazing Saddles. Sad to see him go.
Handrejka 1,903 Posted August 29, 2016 Is there anyone else from Blazing Saddles apart from Mel Brooks still alive?
Joey Russ 7,220 Posted August 29, 2016 Funny thing, I was looking him up Friday to see if he was good for my DDP team. Then he dies. Looks like Gregg Allman might not make it either, cause I have been researching him for a possibility in my DDP team.

Joey Russ 7,220 Posted August 29, 2016 He looks very rough, stupid to exclude him this year. Wow. That guy was right to say that

CoffinLodger 1,248 Posted August 29, 2016 He looks very rough, stupid to exclude him this year. He looked like an 83 year old. It didn't mean he was about to die.Well it did, it just so happens, but it didn't have to, if you see what I mean ...

ImNotHades 207 Posted August 29, 2016 Shock....the man was brilliant. There are no more actors like him...only these polished plastic freaks, gods forbid they make fun of themselves....RIP great man, you are my third hit.
Joey Russ 7,220 Posted August 29, 2016 Shock....the man was brilliant. There are no more actors like him...only these polished plastic freaks, gods forbid they make fun of themselves....RIP great man. It's sad news really. Gene Wilder is dead. I looked up to see if Jim Carey is dead, and sadly, he's still living
msc 18,437 Posted August 29, 2016 RIP Gene Wilder. As a child of my generation, I knew him first and best as Wonka. And sympathies to all his fans - I know a few folk on here are long on record as big fans of the man. I know how you feel. Even though he was old and ill, Patrick Macnee's death last summer still did for me, and even now I find it hard to watch The Avengers yet.
Sean 6,311 Posted August 29, 2016 Christ that is another big death.Sad one too.One of those hits that makes you think back to your childhood and adolescence nostalgically. Most of his work was before my time but timeless. Definitely one of the biggest hits of the year and another one we didn`t see coming.R.I.P :/
Phantom 2,533 Posted August 29, 2016 Certainly not unexpected but still very much saddened by his passing. Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory was a favourite of mine growing up and a favourite of my son. Also The Silver Streak, but they don't show that these days.
