My theme team didn't have a Canadian - and it got ok'd.

So I'm assuming no.

Windsor's correct. You don't need to have a Canadian on the Theme Team, which is why the "Canadian Bonus" starts on the first hit there.

I was just wondering if can enter the competition?

If so what is the latest date I can mail you my list (or am I to late)? how many names should there be on this list? An to what mail adress should I mail it?

There are 49 previous pages on this thread I don't have the time to check them all out for this information.

I worry about CP's blood pressure at this busy time, so I'll answer for him. :D

Vaagheid (I never did like Ear of Van Gogh, Vaagheid is much better),

Rather than read this entire thread, have a look at the rules on CPDP page. Keeping it brief, you need to pick two teams of ten people, one main team and one theme team - e.g Dutch Politicians. All of your picks must have a Wikipedia page. You can enter up until 31.08.09. The email address to send the entry to is on the CPDP page.

Thanks DDT! I should also mention that it's not against the rules to create a Wikipedia page for any individual that you're choosing, as long as it lasts. Also, if anyone wants to replace the standard picture for the team, feel free to send me something - as long as it doesn't break GoDaddy's terms of service (ie. mainly pornography) I'll put it up.

Site updated to reflect the deaths of Edward Kennedy and Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, both of whom were picked for next year's competition. In fact one person picked both Kennedy and al-Hakim, in addition to one team picking both Kennedy and Dunne. I also awarded 5 Theme Team Bonus points to Misers' (Cardinals) because, I felt anyhow, that his Theme Team was the most clever (well, it always made me smile anyhow...) Anyhow, with Edward Kennedy's death, this year becomes the first year where every team has scored at least some points so well done everyone!

Don't forget to get your entries in for next year's CPDP if you haven't already! I've responded to everyone who has sent me an entry thus far, unless you happened to have sent it in the last couple of minutes.

Lady's and gentlemen, boys and ghouls, barring any unforeseen croakitude, we have our winners:

In the Theme Team category, with 28 points, it's Never Came To Maryport's Over the Top, and Under the Ground! Let me extend my heartfelt congratulations, along with my wish that we never speak of this again.

In the Ordinary Team category, I decided that since I didn't have any particular rules for ties in place at the beginning, I couldn't arbitrarily choose one this late in the game so... our THREE winners of the Ordinary Team category on the 2008-2009 CPDP are:

2 Farts and a Splash!

Death Has To Happen Sooner Or Later

To Die For

So To Die For claims a second title and congratulations all around - this was the first year where every team scored at least a few points!

Well, since I'm tired and I've run out of things to say, let's move on to this year's competition. Just now, I've uploaded everything EXCEPT:

1. The Hall of Ghosts

2. The Hall of Candidates

3. Individual candidate pages for picks that have NEVER been picked on the CPDP before.

Otherwise, everything should be available to see, so you can all now peruse each other's teams or the pages for the 100+ candidates that have been picked in the past. I did it all in a bit of a hurry, so there's probably plenty of mistakes - please let me know and I'll get right on them.

Well done CP!

My team is fine, but one minor note - last time I entered a theme-team for my main team; OoO's P-Shooters.

This team I have named a "normal" theme team, so I am just known as Octopus of Odstock this time please.

Cheers! But all looks okay with me...

D'oh! The first of likely many mistakes... luckily not too difficult a fix. I think I fixed it everywhere in the Hall of Teams... let me know if it's popped up anywhere else...

Hi CP,

Well done, it all looks good. I have noticed one small error; it says that I selected Billy Graham for my main team, I actually picked Bobby Graham ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Graham)

On the bottom of the Hall of Teams page, as well as each individual team, my name is still listed as Death Has To Happen Sooner Or Later, same for the title on my own page.
