Toast 16,140 Posted February 7, 2022 ‘Are you going to survive Boris?’ The important question is, is our country going to survive Boris?
YoungWillz 21,044 Posted February 7, 2022 Shameless, when over 180,000 British citizens didn't "survive". Also, I don't remember Labour being elected? Highest tax burden since Attlee, energy crisis worthy of Heath, inflation (real rate probably nearer 8% and rising) rampant and set to rise and interest rates on the up. (Have to say though any millenial who thinks 0.5% interest rate is extortionate is having a laugh, I remember those happy days of double figure interest rates - I'd say it needs to be at least 4% by year's end to stop inflation getting out of control). After 10 years of austerity. Also, had to laugh at the "Shared Prosperity Fund" allocations last week by Gove. "There are real pockets of deprivation in parts of England". So areas which never qualified for EU funding are now getting it. In some of the richest parts of the UK. All because Tory Councils refuse to fund services to keep their Council Tax down - so essentially it's a Council Tax and electoral subsidy for the Conservatives. Of course, try telling any of this to obese and toothless, the heavily made up WI ladies et al who say we need someone like the current incumbent to lead us through the important crises to come. Many of whom are about to get royally shafted.

Sean 6,327 Posted February 7, 2022 To be fair though it wasn't as if she scooped it.It was already being reported .It is sensational and bizarre but those are the times. You can't ignore Guto as much as we all wish we could.
Sean 6,327 Posted February 7, 2022 The Mail gives its verdict on Guto and his first day.Someone on Twitter said he could become the Anthony Scaramucci of British politics .Seems like it could prove to be a fair comparison.
Sean 6,327 Posted February 7, 2022 BlowJo's spokesperson has criticised Jimmy Carr for his "deeply disturbing joke".Last time I checked though Jimmy Carr never harmed anyone whereas BlowJo sent 25000 untested hospital patients back to care homes with no tests which led no doubt lead to deaths in the figure margin which Jimmy Carr merely joked about.
ladyfiona 2,585 Posted February 7, 2022 Jimmy Carr is a comedian who made a joke. Boris Johnson is a Joke who probably never heard of Jimmy Carr until someone brought him up in a cabinet meeting as a way to deflect the anger of the public.

The Old Crem 3,601 Posted February 7, 2022 It’s all falling apart for Boris. Even the big Save Big Dog announcement of another attempt to bring age verification for online porn only manages to make one front page.
The Old Crem 3,601 Posted February 9, 2022 Are the public really that annoyed at Boris. All my family love him still and think it’s all a smear. 1
Youth in Asia 1,087 Posted February 9, 2022 The high adrenaline storylines of the last few years (Trump, Brexit, Covid) are running out of steam, and people are addicted to the drama at this point. My theory is that we need a big story like Boris getting kicked out, people just won't accept boring news days with nothing going on any more. The best that could happen from Boris' point of view would be a full scale war in Ukraine with lots of footage of bombings, like how we used to gather round the TV for the first Gulf War highlights every evening. It is worrying, as I know someone who feels the same and won't hear a word against him. In all other respects a sensible and wise person whose advice I would usually trust.
