Why is it when one converts to Islam they need a new fucking name?  Can't I be Sir Thomas Tinkleberry and follow Islamic worship?  There's no such thing as 'Christian' names so that argument fails upon inception.  If by Christian name you mean I don't have to 'hock a loogie' to get the pronunciation out, then I'll stick with Sir Creep.
Anyway, if your religion demands you change your name to be a part of it, you may want to review the characteristics of a 'cult'.  (yes I know many think all religion is, please humour me and leave that out of it).
