Looks like Chinnichap managed this more than once.  In fact they got a treble.

1973  Can The Can (Suzi Quatro) and Blockbuster (Sweet)

1974  Devil Gate Drive (Suzi Quatro), Tiger Feet (Mud) and Lonely This Christmas (Mud)

Andrea Martin, the songwriter behind multiple pop, R&B and dance music hits, has died aged 49.

With over 280 credits to her name on Discogs, Martin, who was born in New York, was hugely prolific, working on dance music hits such as Tomcraft's "Loneliness," E'voke's "Runaway" and Switch's "I Still Love You." Her writing was particularly popular on UK garage dance floors, with credits on Another Level's "Be Alone No More," which got the mashup treatment on Double 99's "Ripgroove," and Fierce's "So Long," which was remixed by Bump & Flex.

I’ll just pop Leslie Bricusse in here if that’s ok with everyone.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-58970326

If I could talk to the animals, just imagine it
Chattin' with a chimp in chimpanzee
Imagine talking to a tiger, chatting with a cheetah
What a neat achievement it would be
If we could talk to the animals, learn all their languages
Maybe take an animal degree
I'd study elephant and eagle, buffalo and beagle
Alligator, guinea pig, and flea
I would converse in polar bear and python
And I would curse in fluent kangaroo
If people ask me, "Can you speak rhinoceros?"
I'd say, "Of courseros, can't you?"
If I conferred with our furry friends, man to animal
Think of the amazing repartee
If I could walk with the animals, talk with the animals
Grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals
And they could talk to me
If I consulted with quadrupeds
Think what fun we'd have asking over crocodiles for tea
Or maybe lunch with two or three lions, walruses and sea lions
What a lovely place the world would be
If I spoke slang to orangutans
The advantages why any fool on earth could plainly see
Discussing Eastern art and dramas, with intellectual llamas
That's a big step forward you'll agree
I'd learn to speak in antelope and turtle
And my Pekingese would be extremely good
If I were asked to sing in hippopotamus
I'd say, "Why notamus" and I would
If I could parlay with pachyderms
It's a fairy tale worthy of Hans Anderson and Grimm
A man who walks with the animals and talks with the animals
Grunts, and squeaks, and squawks with the animals
And they could talk to him
Let me hear 'em talk
I'd study every creature's language
So I could speak to all of them on site
If friends said, "Can he talk in crab or maybe pelican?"
You'd say, "Like hell he can" and you'd be right
And if you just stop and think of it, ain't no doubt of it
I'm gonna win a place in history
If I could walk with the animals, talk with the animals
Grunt, squeak, squawk with the animals
And they could squeak, and squawk, and speak, and talk to me

Dynasty,

Hmm. William Shelby should be better known, he wrote The Whispers "And The Beat Goes On" which is right up there with my top choons!

According to this he's William B Shelby: https://secondhandsongs.com/artist/12925 and other sources indicate he's out of Los Angeles, CA. Still alive in December last year according to this Instagram post (Shelby's on the left): https://www.instagram.com/p/B6RLYD2JCag/?igshid=d2z9r2uywvr

Well, William Shelby of Dynasty has died: https://www.soultracks.com/story-william-shelby-dies

Also wrote I Can Make You Feel Good for Shalamar.

As a member of Dynasty, he hit #20 in November 1979 on the UK Charts with I Don't Want To Be A Freak.

As my cross post comes from the UK Singles thread, it's another small updating job for @Ulitzer95.

Margo Guryan, US singer-songwriter, has died aged 84. Her composition “Sunday Mornin’” was a US hit for Spanky & Our Gang and Oliver, but she is probably better known today for her solo recordings including the album “Take a Picture” (1968). In the last few years especially, she’s become quite a big deal for lovers of vintage pop and she was active in this revival on social media. She was great, sad to see her go.

Weirdly my joke Bobby Caldwell suggestion from last year might end up being fruitful after all.

All I need to say is Harper Valley PTA. Nuff said, respect!

Edit: DDP Pick, in case of Qobits..

Turns out Tom T Hall's cause of death was suicide by gunshot. :o

Not known to us until after DDP closing time, costing his picker the unnatural bonus!

The good old ‘pretend it didn’t happen’ rules in effect smh.

I’m posting only to say the obit (which I read and didn’t see the suicide thing but ok) also says he worked in a graveyard digging graves.  I think we should have +15 bonus for anyone who worked in a grave or funeral home or majored in mortuary science at university.  I should cross post to DDP 2022 but I won’t.

Dallas Frazier has died at the age of 82

Dallas Frazier's songwriting is quite interesting, however the two that stand out for me are Alley-Oop by The Hollywood Argyles and The Son Of Hickory Holler's Tramp by Johnny Darrell and many others.

Marilyn Bergman dead. Writer (lyricist) of You don't bring me flowers, windmills of my mind and many others

So, during one stint of factory work in the summers as a student one of the guys in the fitting shop had his own take on one of those hits. Given that he sung it enough times during work hours I found myself stuck with "You Divvent Bring me Flowers, You Cunt" running through my head on the bus home.

Brill Building songwriter Beverly Ross dead at 87. Among her co-writing credits are "Lollipop" for the Chordettes, "Dim, Dim The Lights" for Bill Haley and His Comets, and "Judy's Turn to Cry", Lesley Gore's self-answer song to "It's My Party".

ETA also didn't know she was key to furthering Phil Spector's career when he was just starting out. Who then stole a riff she wrote for his own usage in "Spanish Harlem", and she withdrew from the music industry a few years later. Truly feels like you could be on your deathbed and still find new reasons he was a cunt!

He's 31 and he cancelled it due to issues with his vocal cords.

You really are just trolling 24/7 on here now. Why PB hasn't stuck you on mod preview I don't understand.
