I'd say that nobody needs a Gladiator II or a misguided Napoleon biography. I hear you, nobody forces me to watch them. But I kind of think it reflects back badly on the originals, like the later Indiana Jones movies. Sometimes things are better off being left alone, and Ridley Scott doesn't bring anything new to the table anymore.

I admit that's a bit elitist.

I did quite like House of Gucci and All The Money In The World

It is a pity Ridley Scott can't retire retrospectively. Ideally before he made 1492 and Prometheus

A must for the 2025 list IMO. Now granted he could end up like a lot of the current list and survive somehlw but still wouldn't let that be a reason to keep him off

One of my few remaining, living personal heroes. Should he go on the DeathList would he need a new thread?

I was just going through the internet, looking for a suitable subtitle.

It has to be "Now it's dark" from Blue Velvet.

Very nice, season 3! I'm also very partial to "What year is this?".

David Lynch has had to leave his Hollywood home, due to the risk of it burning down.

As the Log Lady once said  "When this kind of fire starts, it is very hard to put out. The tender boughs of innocence burn first, and the wind rises, and then all goodness is in jeopardy"

Think there’s a good chance that expedited his death I’m afraid

It did:

Sources told Deadline that he was forced to relocate from his house due to the Sunset Fire and then took a turn for the worse.

Sad... someone I would not have been able to pick in a pool. A hero of mine. First movie I watched of his was Dune, still a movie I like to place in my personal top 5. Attended a university course on him, too (as an english major in a different time...). Was watching his stuff until late last year, when my partner and I finished the 3rd season of Twin Peaks. RIP.....
