Ooh, that's a shocker.

Me: I guess he killed himself.

Wife: He must have been hungry then.

Excellent news!

What goes plink plink fizz?

A copper's arms in Brizzi's acid bath

(though you'd need to old enough to remember classic Alker Seltzer ads to get the joke)

The version I knew was a lot sicker than that. In my younger days, I wouldn't hesitate to repeat it. I'm an oldie now and, I like to think, a bit more PC now.

Aye, hankering after old times PB if you insist on hanging around hereabouts though.

Swedish professor/statistician Hans Rosling has passed away following a battle with pancreatic cancer. He did a series of excellent Ted Talks and also did a documentary for BBC4 a few years ago, so a UK obit is probably coming soon.

Don't Panic!

Actually, The Joy of Stats was quite good in a late night BBC4 way.

Have the feeling he was mentioned last year - some discussion about TED talk QO likelihood?

I'm pretty shocked to be honest. I didn't know he was ill at all.

If Sumner gets an obit while Mohammed Al-Khilaiwi didn't.... I'm not saying racism, but racism.

It's the typical English Speaking Country rule. I'm sure Al-Khilaiwi got obits in Arabic speaking countries...

29 teams await a QO.

I'm a little surprised by how many picked him. Would be the biggest List of the Lost entry ever...But then I DO have him in my B-Team and in the Generation game...

The generation game is hardly as prestigious as the DDP though.:P

I picked him as I figured most international team captains should get a mention somewhere. That and he was a dead cert to die.

Always knew I could trust in the Mail, as Mosley might have once said.
