maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted February 6, 2017 Police Killer Brizzi dies in prison http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-38880277 Excellent news! What goes plink plink fizz? A copper's arms in Brizzi's acid bath (though you'd need to old enough to remember classic Alker Seltzer ads to get the joke)

A copper's arms in Brizzi's acid bath (though you'd need to old enough to remember classic Alker Seltzer ads to get the joke) The version I knew was a lot sicker than that. In my younger days, I wouldn't hesitate to repeat it. I'm an oldie now and, I like to think, a bit more PC now.

LB93 39 Posted February 7, 2017 Swedish professor/statistician Hans Rosling has passed away following a battle with pancreatic cancer. He did a series of excellent Ted Talks and also did a documentary for BBC4 a few years ago, so a UK obit is probably coming soon. https://www.gapminder.org/news/sad-to-announce-hans-rosling-passed-away-this-morning/

Actually, The Joy of Stats was quite good in a late night BBC4 way. Have the feeling he was mentioned last year - some discussion about TED talk QO likelihood? Chopped Liver 53 Posted February 7, 2017 If Sumner gets an obit while Mohammed Al-Khilaiwi didn't.... I'm not saying racism, but racism. It's the typical English Speaking Country rule. I'm sure Al-Khilaiwi got obits in Arabic speaking countries...

The generation game is hardly as prestigious as the DDP though. I picked him as I figured most international team captains should get a mention somewhere. That and he was a dead cert to die.
