The Mad Hatter

15. Jean-Marie Le Pen

Recommended Posts

I swear I searched his name this morning to see if we had any news and wanted to ask on his thread but didn’t want to Bump unnecessarily. I almost switched my vote on the 1st death of 2025 poll in the meantime but forgot. Good riddance.

Damn, is the Grim Reaper ramping up his sickle after Jimmy Carter? Anyway, he's my first hit in my deadpool!

One less to worry about in the Inverse Pool, I'm guessing.

There do seem to have been some names who clung on against the odds, including Carter and Le Pen. Chomsky and Rantzen also seem to be clinging on still.

Sadly number 21 on my list (first sub), so a near miss for my DDP.

Always nice to get a hit and not feel bad about having picked them.

As our very own Grim Reaper put it once years ago: "Many DeathList successes bring with them some sadness, so it’s all the more pleasing when we have a success with a candidate who is generally accepted as evil."

He died on January 7th, just like Beckenbauer did last year, except that he was already the DL's third hit!

And Beckenbauer was widely mourned instead, of course.

I dont like to be happy when someone dies but this man was horrible, bon débarras !

And with his death it's a big page that is tuning in France because he was the last surviving prominent French political leader of the 20th century
