I was at a journalist pub quiz (our team won, obviously) and checked my phone after being allowed to turn it on post-quiz. Every other hack there was more concerned about the news that Muhammad Ali had hours to live but I was more concerned for janitorial. 

Ah...sorry, those days seemed longer to me, I guess, because we (I?) expected a death on the first day.

You must've been thinking about the Advent Avalanche. That took ten days to have a winner, yet there were three who died before Christmas (Zsa Zsa and Pier Sellers were the other two)

I probably won't be able to post at 9 so I have a squad of 7 lined up none of which I favour over any other really. I think I'll the flurry of early entrants mop some of them up and that will make my choice a bit easier later in the day.

Aye, less than 12 hours until entries open. Me and Mrs MPFC are planning on taking a long-leisurly walk in the warm sunshine tomorrow. I'll get us a masterlist late on tomorrow night (assuming 20 folks have provided listable masters).

3 hours till it begins. So, that's three hours of sleep for me before I have to get up. I honestly like my time set for the Advent Avalanche better though, it's set so there isn't necessarily an advantage or disadvantage for Brits or Americans. Where as there may be disadvantages for the American posters who sleep in. Anyways, good luck to everyone.
