2 pointsWhat is going on is whatever is keeping your addled brain whirring at 2:37 am. Moot point, since for SC it wasn't 2:37am, it was anywhere between 4:37pm and 9:37pm depending upon his precise location (not allowing for any local daylight saving times that are due around now which I cba to look up). That's the internerd for you, people posting from just anywhere.... Excellent deduction. It was 8:37 as I am CST and with daylight savings (according to my post). I was sitting at my regular pub and someone in my DP posted this one so you know me, I have to share with my awesome British/European friends here in DL site. It's the least I can do. I was probably only about on pint #2 of what would become a dastardly evening of dubauchery at the time of this posting.Sir C So you're a debauched american insomniac. American? Since when do Americans sit in "pubs" and drink "pints"? He's one of y'all I think. That comment speaks volumes. It's where I go and what I drink. I also will kick butt and take names at steel-tip darts. See, the difference is that I've actually been to Jolly Olde England and enjoyed myself thoroughly but regardless any opinion I have is first hand. My sister lived over there for a few years and got married to a Limey (lol). I couldn't care less where a few here get their animosity from re: Americans. It's their personal prejudices they can wrestle with. I find the angst terribly amusing and smile each time. So keep it up :-) But yes, we have pubs that serve pints over here (not everyone drinks fahkin Budweiser), but sadly no Viz magazines way back when. Sir C That's all entirely possible Mr. Creepy but I still think you're a Limey. I don't drink Bud by the way. He's not a Limey - who else but a septic would use the term 'steel-tip darts'?

2 pointsSocialism relies on private financial interests to generate the tax revenue for public industries.Socialism as it existed in the Eastern Bloc didn't rely on private financial interests. It relied on "socialist work ethics" and "socialist education". But if someone lacked the ethics and couldn't be brainwashed at school, they could still be charged with "social parasitism" (which was a criminal offence) if they didn't want to get a proper job (like freelancer artists). So this mixed system advocated by the Western European parties is still better, even if it seems a bit inconsistent. Socialism didn't exist in the 'eastern bloc'. A system of power pervaded which used a convenient title. Socialism as a philosophy is about making sure everyone has at least the basics needed for existence (food, warmth, shelter) which no one with an interest in humanity would deny.

1 pointInteresting. His previous death sentences appear to have been reduced to life, but he has now been sentenced to death yet again. Wonder how that affects Mr Yuck's DDP team? Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-31914964 He will still die from execution so it still nullifies the pick (or points at least). If they die via execution from the death sentence you won't get points, though maybe for an unannounced execution you might though i'm not 100% sure. If hosni mubarak was sentenced to death under morsi and then released by the army like what happened , then he died you would still get points . Whether you would get points if someone died in prison while awaiting execution now I don't have a clue about that one .

I didn't know a "septic" was a slang term for an American so thanks for that bit of knowledge. I (as an American) would just say "darts". I'm not sure why modifying it with "steel-tip" would cinch the ID but I'll continue to see him as one of yours for the time being. Septic Tank = Yank What usually is a good indicator for me is when someone refers to tea, as "hot tea" to differentiate between what us Brits refer to as "tea" and iced tea. Which to me seems a bit pointless as when you're offered coffee, you don't hear someone saying to you "would you like a mug of hot coffee"?

1 pointI think the way it's deemed for this topic, is that it's for those that are well known musicians, have been cited as influences for today's bands, singers etc or they may have just had singles in the charts in previous years.

1 pointRe those rumours: Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis. So, lots of people visit the site, but they won't present a stat on their accuracy.

1 pointHis leukaemia had been in remission but now, he says quietly, “it’s still there, and has just reared its head again”. A recent bone-marrow biopsy has been a sharp, unwelcome reminder of this underlying condition. “I’m about to have some more chemo,” he says, “which I haven’t had in years. I always knew that leukaemia would catch up with me.” -For those who can`t be bothered to read article.

1 pointThat's what that article writes: "he would be ready to resign like his predecessor rather than ruling for life." I have two thoughts about that. Good. Governments, like nappies, should be changed often and for the same reason. I hope he stays on for a few more years. He seems a decent bloke, as popes go.

1 pointBobbi Kristina Brown is on life support desperately fighting for her young life while her mercenary family use the opportunity to film a reality TV show, give interviews, make fools of themselves on social media and generally behave like vile famewhores. It seems the latest media circus for the Brown family is really just more of a side show. Rumors had been swirling that some of Bobby Brown’s family members would be filming a reality show that included Bobbi Kristina Brown’s fight for her life Seriously, next to them we have the moral high ground!

1 pointYou seem to be the bearer of bad good news today OoO! Next you'll be finding a report that Friedman's death was just a media error. EDIT: This statement is tentatively withdrawn until I see just how critical Ferenc Puskas is...
