Celebrity chefs are all a bunch of rancid c*nts that need puting into an industrial meat grinder so that they become edible for pigs. Well maybe Id leave The Galloping Gourmet out of it because he was pretty good. That apart, Keith Floyd died and those other wankers are still with us. Life really isnt fair, is it.

Allan Holdsworth, the greatest guitarist no one's ever heard of, dead at 70: http://ultimateclassicrock.com/guitar-pioneer-allan-holdsworth-dies/ http://teamrock.com/news/2017-04-16/allan-holdsworth-dead-at-70 No mentions of his death that I can see in mainstream news media, only on specialist music magazines and sites. But of course, he's not got "mass pop appeal" so he doesn't matter, right? The man was an absolute guitar genius. The bands that he's played in read like a who's who of 70s avant-prog - Soft Machine, Gong, Bruford, U.K., Nucleus, Tempest ... Could have sworn he was a member of National Health and If as well but apparently not! Will leave you with this video showcasing his excellent guitar playing!

To pick up on an older point, its a sobering thought to realise we're not that far off haing modern young celebrities where we can go and check what Deathlist forum posts were made on the day of their birth. (There''s footballers born 2000/2001 now, so, only a few years to go...)

The 02 on Cup Final day - which is a stresser to my Chelsea supporting mate but not so for anyone who follows Carlisle United

Kevin is living in Hawaii with his extended family. I was glad he got away from here as much as he could, although I think he still has some business interests in Texas. He doesn't come back here very often. When his mom died in late 2015 he had already cut a lot of ties - he brought her back to Dallas, buried her with his father and brothers, and went home. The story of the Adkissons (the Von Erich's real last name) rears its ugly head into the Dallas Morning News periodically. I always felt compassion for Doris Adkisson. She lost almost everything and yet still persevered. I don't know that I could do the same. Kevin was my favorite Von Erich. I used to go to the Sportatorium in Dallas to watch him. I was a really pitiful adolescent.

Article here on Bobby Doerr, the oldest living MLB player and Hall of Famer, who turned 99 a little over a week ago. Now spends 20 hours a day sleeping and has been receiving hospice care for over a year, so I'm guessing the Doerr closes before he sees his hundredth.

He actually received his heart from another athlete, Konrad Reuland, whose death we didn't cover last December: http://6abc.com/sports/baseball-hall-of-famer-gets-heart-transplant-from-late-nfl-player/1881188/

OK, let's put this one to rest. Emma is the last person on earth who will have some dude chisling ' Born 18--' in her headstone. Fair enough? SC (Edit -- and frankly I don't know what everyone are all on about. No one ever ever ever EVVVV-VER ever ever said Emma was 'the last person born in the 19th Century' [prove me wrong with a link here ________________], only that she was the last person born in the 1800's. And that's a fact, jack.

Emma Morano IS a hit, and a unique one for Deadsox! They finally have a hit. I have been humming and hawwing about it being 2 points or 3 points, as "oldest woman in the world" isn't really a claim to fame and is more a lifetime achievement. Deadsox is however now level with Spade at the half way point. Meanwhile, Tony Kaye's death turns another Quarterfinal on its head, being a three pointer for Heef. News on the horizon: while Jason DiMatteo is apparently on the mend, Barry Marshall-Everitt on the other hand (a unique for Death Impends) is now in full time hospice care and getting coverage in the Evening Standard next week, according to Just Giving. Meanwhile the likes of Nevin, Lakovic and King Michael cling on.... 1. DDT vs Rad’s Die-monds in the Sky (Rad Guy) 0-1 2. “O” (Gcreptile) vs William Henry Harrison Die-in-a-Month Squad (Death Impends) 2-9 3. 101 Great Practical Jokes with Luciano Re Cecconi (Spade Cooley) vs Deadsox 2-2 4. The GUN’11 (Grim Up North) vs Heef 2-4 As usual, if I miss out your slightly obscure unique hit, do let us know.

Who cares? The Star Wars franchise as a whole is just a poor man's Battle Beyond the Stars.

    J. Geils, guitarist and founder of the rock group The J. Geils Band, has died aged 71. The band had various hits in the American charts, including Lookin' For A Love (#39, 1971), Give It To Me (#30, 1973), Must Of Got Lost (#12, 1974), Love Stinks (#38, 1980), Come Back (#32, 1980) and Freeze-Frame (#4, 1981). Their biggest hit, however, was Centerfold which reached #1 in the USA and #3 in the UK. Edit: BBC

Steve Howe of Yes is 70 today....putting him squarely in the Reaper's wheelhouse if recent rock n rollers are any indication. Granted, Howe has looked like death warmed over for 20 years. SC

I was surprised that no-one picked up on this recent snippet of news to suggest that Tony Blair might have more to worry about than his own messianic peace crusade. Once a target always a target?
