Finally got it together and mailed a big ole box of goodies back for my daughter for Christmas. Daddy won't be there this year. I DID get to take her (7) to see Santa, and I suspect we have at most one more year of that. So there it is. SC

Yeah, while some people do hold on longer than expected, the constant "she's only days away now" updates did make me think it might've been a stunt for a while...

Honestly, I was having my doubts about the severity of her illness for a while. I think much of it was a ploy to get their show renewed.

Who is not Deathlist worthy? Me. I'm unlikely to get a qualifying obit even if I die next year, which hopefully won't happen. Have I got this thread right?

Note for Handy: Chegwin is the second recent casualty of Series 6 of Pointless after Keith Barron. Might be worth scanning the relevant list for a team for next year at this rate...

Oh yes, any big political news story from anywhere in the world and we hear about it, particularly from the US. Just out of genuine interest, what's British political coverage like in Americaland? For no reason whatsoever, I have the impression that the only time anyone had ever heard of Theresa May is when she held Trump's hand on a walk around the White House, and even then just presumed she was just an aged receptionist.

Yes, our main news and TV current events shows cover the US elections and big political stories. I've known about McCain since 2000 when he ran against Bush, and that was a while before I became interested in politics. He was doing one of those walk by and asked questions from the press vox pop bits, then he turned to the C4N camera/journalist and went "Oh I know you, you're from Channel 4 News, come and have some tea!" Then he got gubbed by Bush. His health even made top headlines in the locals here like the Evening Times (the Glasgow paper) when he got diagnosed a few months ago. Name recognition - which not a lot of non-British (or hell, British/Scottish) politicians have.

Would you exclude John Cale, who was a member of the Velvet Underground in their first two legendary albums as well as had a solo career and produced some of the greatest albums of all time, and was knighted as well as being inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame? If that’s not significant enough for a spot on the deathlist, I don’t know what is...

Like in the first post, I think the final survivor of the original list, Ozzy Osbourne, should make a return starting next. How the hell he was able to last that long I do not know...

Who are you referring to when you say "another"? I've just looked at the 2013 list and can't see anyone else that has died this month........ Who are you referring to when you say "another"? I've just looked at the 2013 list and can't see anyone else that has died this month........ Nevertheless, following the death of Sharon and Fergie Frerickson, this year is developing a trend of more 'misses' than 'hits'. I hope it doesn't stay like that all year! It's a ruddy shambles, it looks like more people on the planet who weren't on the list will die this year than ones who are.
