6 pointsWe don't need a seperate topic for every obscurity you can find, this is why the Ideas and Possibilities for 2019 thread exists...

5 pointsJeez, I sure am glad I never heard of this Willow bird, can you imagine the kerfuffle if she was on my after-the-deadline team

2 pointsMy answer would be similar to msc. I lost a family friend prematurely before Christmas who was a good person who deserved for me to care about his death at all levels (and I did). I use him here only to illustrate the point that I understand the pain of the death of a loved one. The people I have selected in my death list teams I do not actually know at all although the world of celebrity would like me to think I did. Most of the people on my teams are dying way before their time and I would not want anyone I truly knew or loved to be in their shoes although when death finally comes to claim them it will probably be a relief - none of my picks are going to die suddenly and unexpectedly. My selections are based on a logical process (still flawed by being a newbie) to try and get a maximum score in a game that rewards young and famous deaths in my attempt to win the game. I cannot attempt to link dead pooling and caring because my mind has already divorced the two (rightly or wrongly). As a related point I try to follow the following etiquette on this site. When someone dies I will be respectful in my comments on their thread and in the deaths of the year thread (unless there is a harmless joke or pun to make which sometimes I can't resist) however in the Dead Pool threads I can celebrate the points a death might earn me. It's not perfect, like me, but I think dead pooling is a pretty harmless way to spend my time really.

2 pointsI was asleep, you know! Define "care". Of the 60 people on my 3 teams, the only two I wouldn't raise a glass to are the two murderers. There are some I outright hope buck the trend - Falkholt, Lewis - and others I have outright sympathy for their condition. I take no joy from the actual death (it's just part of life) but after the Tony Benn debacle*, I don't pick people who mean massive amounts to me on a personal level. Hence complete lack of Mr Lambie on any of my teams. *My team in 2013 was shit. Benn was ill. I picked him the next year as a sort of jinx to try and keep him alive. Failed. Very sad. Not repeating that. Hope that helps!

2 pointsLooking at the ages of some of the people on the list I’m surprised Glynis Johns (Winifred Banks from Mary Poppins) hasn't been included, 95 this year and hasn't worked since 1999.

2 pointsNot heard much from him in many years, maybe worth keeping an eye on. While I am sure most of you are cultured and know this man, some members like SC and Joey Russ may not. He was the one of the great artists of and voices of a generation, on the same level of Aretha Franklin or Diana Ross.

1 pointAlright, there's enough of us on here now to have earned our own topic. Andrea Camilleri, Topo Gigio creator Maria Perego, Nico Fidenco, Omero Antonutti... this is where they go when they experience La Dolce Morte.

1 pointThank you for noticing that. It would have been quite embarrassing if the name was just the exact same as last year.

1 pointAn article about the Lelux Hospital in Bangkok, where they are performing 'penis whitening' procedures. Because as we know (and I'm unanimous in this), once you go white, you never go back. The same hospital stirred controversy last year for touting a cosmetic procedure called a "3D Vagina" in which the customer's own body fat is used to make genitalia more plump. The penis whitening service costs around US$650 for five sessions. SC

1 pointAye, summat of a character - fond of a party and a pretty girl but ask a surviving band member from any act signed to Immediate Records if he knew what he was doing and you might have to stand well back as they respond. Quite likely the only man who can claim up close and personal involvement in strategies that made both The Beatles and Jive Bunny big hit acts

1 pointThat does it! We have 20 complete and active lists for the inaugural version of the Five4three2one DP. I have made a complete matrix for Jan and will post it below. I am amazed at the percentage of new names that come in even after I have been doing this for a few years. Truly a global competition. That said, please use full names in the future on your teams, as I am not familiar with European footballers, and many others that are coming in (tho' the Python cast are certainly universal). I am not aware of any hits yet, so it is all square as we embark on a new year of carnage. I am going to take a stab at the winning score and say it will fall somewhere in the 33 - 35 range, and that will be impressive. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the ride.
