2 pointsHere's the active member stats, which I found surprisingly high, but I suppose there is a hardcore of about 20-30 of us who contribute the vast majority of posts. 1 Sep 2003 1 1 Oct 2003 8 1 Nov 2003 6 1 Dec 2003 9 1 Jan 2004 13 1 Feb 2004 11 1 Mar 2004 14 1 Apr 2004 18 1 May 2004 23 1 Jun 2004 32 1 Jul 2004 29 1 Aug 2004 30 1 Sep 2004 29 1 Oct 2004 37 1 Nov 2004 48 1 Dec 2004 45 1 Jan 2005 65 1 Feb 2005 84 1 Mar 2005 71 1 Apr 2005 83 1 May 2005 60 1 Jun 2005 76 1 Jul 2005 84 1 Aug 2005 84 1 Sep 2005 91 1 Oct 2005 111 1 Nov 2005 102 1 Dec 2005 107 1 Jan 2006 144 1 Feb 2006 114 1 Mar 2006 108 1 Apr 2006 88 1 May 2006 96 1 Jun 2006 87 1 Jul 2006 86 1 Aug 2006 90 1 Sep 2006 94 1 Oct 2006 111 1 Nov 2006 114 1 Dec 2006 137 1 Jan 2007 140 1 Feb 2007 115 1 Mar 2007 98 1 Apr 2007 85 1 May 2007 83 1 Jun 2007 91 1 Jul 2007 98 1 Aug 2007 101 1 Sep 2007 100 1 Oct 2007 84 1 Nov 2007 82 1 Dec 2007 82 1 Jan 2008 114 1 Feb 2008 88 1 Mar 2008 93 1 Apr 2008 87 1 May 2008 69 1 Jun 2008 82 1 Jul 2008 77 1 Aug 2008 85 1 Sep 2008 79 1 Oct 2008 73 1 Nov 2008 75 1 Dec 2008 99 1 Jan 2009 121 1 Feb 2009 90 1 Mar 2009 118 1 Apr 2009 87 1 May 2009 79 1 Jun 2009 113 1 Jul 2009 119 1 Aug 2009 100 1 Sep 2009 98 1 Oct 2009 85 1 Nov 2009 96 1 Dec 2009 105 1 Jan 2010 110 1 Feb 2010 86 1 Mar 2010 97 1 Apr 2010 77 1 May 2010 82 1 Jun 2010 76 1 Jul 2010 68 1 Aug 2010 76 1 Sep 2010 71 1 Oct 2010 90 1 Nov 2010 77 1 Dec 2010 90 1 Jan 2011 121 1 Feb 2011 69 1 Mar 2011 88 1 Apr 2011 74 1 May 2011 90 1 Jun 2011 64 1 Jul 2011 82 1 Aug 2011 78 1 Sep 2011 71 1 Oct 2011 68 1 Nov 2011 70 1 Dec 2011 79 1 Jan 2012 92 1 Feb 2012 76 1 Mar 2012 67 1 Apr 2012 69 1 May 2012 75 1 Jun 2012 87 1 Jul 2012 77 1 Aug 2012 78 1 Sep 2012 71 1 Oct 2012 70 1 Nov 2012 106 1 Dec 2012 127 1 Jan 2013 129 1 Feb 2013 101 1 Mar 2013 92 1 Apr 2013 110 1 May 2013 87 1 Jun 2013 105 1 Jul 2013 106 1 Aug 2013 74 1 Sep 2013 71 1 Oct 2013 81 1 Nov 2013 72 1 Dec 2013 137 1 Jan 2014 121 1 Feb 2014 93 1 Mar 2014 89 1 Apr 2014 84 1 May 2014 75 1 Jun 2014 90 1 Jul 2014 71 1 Aug 2014 85 1 Sep 2014 84 1 Oct 2014 86 1 Nov 2014 78 1 Dec 2014 92 1 Jan 2015 114 1 Feb 2015 94 1 Mar 2015 97 1 Apr 2015 83 1 May 2015 92 1 Jun 2015 95 1 Jul 2015 94 1 Aug 2015 113 1 Sep 2015 87 1 Oct 2015 109 1 Nov 2015 108 1 Dec 2015 127 1 Jan 2016 144 1 Feb 2016 133 1 Mar 2016 122 1 Apr 2016 120 1 May 2016 113 1 Jun 2016 116 1 Jul 2016 95 1 Aug 2016 103 1 Sep 2016 94 1 Oct 2016 107 1 Nov 2016 111 1 Dec 2016 165 1 Jan 2017 195 1 Feb 2017 147 1 Mar 2017 139 1 Apr 2017 111 1 May 2017 138 1 Jun 2017 157 1 Jul 2017 133 1 Aug 2017 151 1 Sep 2017 165 1 Oct 2017 167 1 Nov 2017 168 1 Dec 2017 205 1 Jan 2018 268

2 pointsDidn't pick him in the DDP. Just like Wetton last year. When will I learn? Also, judging by this pattern, the Deathlist 2019 can expect it's first hit on January 23rd.

2 pointsDoesn't matter if it's posted a bit later. My thinking is that people might want to read through the thread at a later date. Yes, there's Wiki, but nothing wrong with having an in-house one-stop shop. I don't understand why people are so eager to sneer. Fine to point out a duplication when it appears almost directly below the first announcement, but I really don't see the harm in deaths being recorded in all appropriate threads. Many people don't have the time or inclination to search out and read every single thread.

1 pointBracknell McCain and Jowell are certs. All the others are in real danger.Herman Wouk looked like he was too frail to do anything for himself last year.Bob Dole looks like he has already died.Billy Graham is a mystery to us all and is becoming the New Zsa Zsa.Clive James likewise is becoming incredible for his longevity. He has clearly gone downhill a lot though.Simon was said to be mute from Alzheimers in August and Gascoine is also in the late stages of the disease.Moss is clearly very damaged by recent illnesses.Bush senior has had more hospitalizations than I care to remember. All the others are either so old or very frail.Hey maybe the record can still be broken.

1 pointSmith`s death in my view leaves the list in a good position. As one of the most risky picks Smith was by no means a cert and was one of the youngest names on the list. With certs such as Bracknell Jowell and McCain advanced dementia sufferers such as Gascoine Scales and Simon and very old and ill names such as Wouk Graham Bush Senior Moss Barbara Bush Dole and Leslie Phillips ,and the extreme age of many candidates this could shape up to be a decent year.I doubt the DL record will be matched let alone beaten but there is still potential for a decent year with maybe 14 hits.

1 pointIn terms of name recognition Mark E Smith is clearly a less well-known lead vocalist than John Wetton - lead singer of Asia and Asia was a band known Worldwide . But Wetton was rejected from the 2017 list and as a result Deathlist missed out having 18 deaths in 2017 !

1 pointAs for my decision to include him on my DDP team, well, I just had a really a strong feeling after reading those cancellations back in December. I just felt like he wasn’t going to make it. That, and I kept saying a major new wave artist was going to be ill, and he was the closest thing to that, so I thought it would’ve been immoral for me not to pick him. I enjoyed his music, he has a very unique style.

1 pointI finally got round to watching Valerian. Total tosh. Some element of style over content but the hero was charmless. Clive Owen was dismal. The plot inconsequential. Cara Delvinge was nice but the truly damning thing about the film was Rihanna was the best thing in it.

1 pointI posted in another topic Lyndon LaRouche though still looking good as of chistmas would be 96 if he makes it to 2019. He had a heart attack sometime in the 1990s and is/was a fairly heavy drinker and smoked a pipe for decades. He’d make a good replacement if Prince Philip doesn’t make it and he does.
