Our little DL-Convention No.3: We couldn't decide where to meet, so we flipped a coin. Novosibirsk lost, New York won. How lucky we are. All the best from Book and gcreptile (left and right)

Thanks. I wish the news would report this kind of stuff!

Hadrian was an idiot. No wall ever going to be high enough. I support you lot you know, Like a second son. Do you reciprocate? Can't even spell it. We should only allow another Scot on this board when one leaves... 50 million English or something, 5 million Scots, and all of them on here. Now I'm gonna get killed by msc, charon, willz (young AND old) and by this toilet cleaner bloke bleach. So it goes.

Good. Sometimes it's better to die than to be kept alive for years with no hope. I hope her family can one day move on and realise that.

I'll do analysis if you like and I know nothing about football, only watch once every 2/4 years. England B isn't up to Belgium B. Politics suggests he had to play them. Now he can tell them to sod off because they were crap, sit on the bench - go on when we tell you. We won't win it all, and for once the expectation has been curbed (at least until now). Put the A team out on Tuesday and we may do ok against Colombia. Further that that? Unlikely aside from the fact that nobody bar Brazil (who started shakily themselves) really looks to be in another league. England A is 11 or 12 players (clearly from today when we go outside that, its not there yet), there are better teams out there, but none I've see so far we couldn't beat on the day. Will we win? No. But effort over expectation will do for me. As to why no analysis? Don't know. But i'll put my head over the parapet, as if my previous post didn't.

I didn't enter that many deadpools, but I'll find myself refreshing this one because my name is currently at the top The scores between me and the next 20 names isn't that much though - in my top 5 I've got four nonagenarians (Betty White, Bob Barker, Dick van Dyke, Doris Day) who all it takes is a tad of pneumonia to knock them over. I've also got Donald Trump at #4, as long as fox media doesn't turn against him I don't think he'll have a heart attack! We'll see, thanks for hosting so far @Death Impends, this year is a close one!

Since I'll be in Nova Scotia for the next two weeks and may not have internet access, let me take the time to thank msc once again for running a great tournament. I'll offer congratulations when I return to ensure that I won't jinx anyone.

Thanks for the feedback Grim. Good question. I didn't really think about that. I think we'll make it the score at normal full time. I.E. 90 minutes (including injury time) for the benefit of those not familiar with the game. Extra time and penalties won't count.

David Dimbleby’s about to retire...here’s who should replace him

For the knockout games what score are we trying to predict? 90 mins (incl injury time obviously) Or 90 mins plus Extra time if played Or 90 mins plus Extra time and including penalties? Cheers PS Enjoying this PB - it adds an extra little bit of interest to some of the games that I haven't really cared about. Thanks for running.

In tribute to the late Dr William McBride. Three women were waiting at the obstretician's office and they were all knitting. The first puts down her knitting and takes a tablet and the other two ask, "What's that?" "It's a calcium supplement so my baby has strong teeth and bones." The second lady puts down her knitting and takes a tablet and the others ask, "What's that?" "Its a folate supplement so my baby won't get spina bifida." The third lady puts down her knitting and takes a tablet. "What's that?" ask the other two. "Thalidomide, I can't knit sleeves."

Not exactly on topic, but in 2002 I think, Eurosport showed every game in full coverage from the 78 WC with Archie MacPherson commentating. It was great. Off work on holiday, in pub at 6am in Broughton Street sitting watching game after game. I wonder if they did it again with other WC's in later years. Woooooooof.

I'm just glad someone else is mocking the recent thread making. Here here, Deathray. Maybe they can merge this with my Michael Phelps thread made for the same reason, though all the chlorine he has exposed himself to makes him a dead cert for 2019. SC
