My first DL dream: I dreamt that @drol stepped out in front of my hire car out here in Perth and I damn nearly ran him over. I started shouting at him but then I recognised him (he looked exactly like his pic, and, naturally, he was walking a dog that looked just like @theoldlady's pic) and then said hello. He replied to me that I didn't look anything like Ainsley Harriott and we had a laugh about Sri Sri.

RIP. My second for the year. Had the curious belief that the committee had her on their list ..... but not so. That means 2-nil to me at present.

You need to choose a New Name and place it in the SAME slot you had Adamowicz. The January list does not take effect/start scoring until Tuesday, January 15th. The same goes for those who chose Shirley Boone, who died last Friday. See Worm Farmers 1st and 2nd postings.

RIP, my first hit of 2019! It's always sad when a truly entertaining person passes away, but she had a fullfilled life & reached a very high age.

Bingo! I hope I have made amendments (just now) to the opening rules post that clarifies what you just asked about, and more! Check it out Quim - and I hope it has addressed concerns by those who didn't like the original changes from last years game.

So, following the smackdown I received, I went and ran some numbers. This is the proportion of people aged 90 or more at the time they appeared on the list over the past decade. 2019 - 60% 2018 - 62% 2017 - 58% 2016 - 56% 2015 - 64% 2014 - 62% 2013 - 62% 2012 - 52% 2011 - 56% 2010 - 50% I'd call that inconclusive, although clearly my perception was wrong. 2019 certainly is right in the middle of the range of the past few years, but one could make the case for creeping inflation since 2010. Interestingly, 2012 was the last year that none of the top 5 was aged over 86 and we lost the entire top 3 that year.

Mentioned elsewhere today but you could do worse than go to the Deathrace thread, find the masterlist on the first page and start Googling anyone you don't know. But he sure to check the list of the lost above to make sure they're still alive
