The second series took years to write (as the marriage was falling apart) and Booth refused to speak about the show for 30 years or so afterwards, although she did later give the OK for the stage version. So maybe? I did have a book on this somewhere - possibly in storage from one of many moves - where they interviewed all the Pythons about the 70s, and John Cleese basically moans about everyone - Gilliam for being a budget killer on the films, Jones for being a perfectionist, Chapman for his alcoholism, Palin for being "too damned nice"! But he did mention about Fawlty Towers that (paraphrased) "Connie wrote it and I got the praise".
