4 pointsNewspaper obituary for Dorothy Claire. This one took me far too long to find! As for "Doc" Goldberg, his real first name was Edward. The person on that forum says he died in either Jan or Feb 1988. There is a death record for an "Edward Lord" in brackets it has "Edward Goldberg" written. He died in Jan 1988 and was born in 1913 in Brooklyn, NY. That's the closest record I could find. Just a hunch, and by no means a strong match. Anyway, you're correct. Ray Anthony is definitely the last surviving member. He was still playing his trumpet last year. He'll be 100 in January. It'll be a sad day when he passes.

3 pointsThere are not that many near nailed on debuts/returnees this year. Pele obviously. Frank Field and Antony Sher are Ill and famous enough but there is a reasonable chance the committee will miss them. George Alagiah and Bill Turnbull should be called up but will they? I hope Marianne Faithful is considered.

2 pointsThere are at least 2 others from The Glenn Miller Story still alive. Alan Copeland (wiki), a member of the Modernaires appears in the film. He's 95 and still kicking about. Deborah Sydes (IMDb), child actress in the film is still alive according to the residency records. She's only 70! Copeland, Sydes, Tempo and Ross were all uncredited ofc.

1 pointWhen Predictor asked about this case 3 months ago, I said she appeared to be a no-name with some TV appearances and her cancer seemed to be under control. I've made better predictions, I'll be honest.

1 pointAnd surely contracted It in hospital, a sign he is very likely immunodepressed. Could be a precautionary measure, but his clock is ticking. Way too many issues to deal with.

1 pointHe is Death List worthy. The committee have precedence for American celebrities of a certain era of American TV shows ( Carl Reiner ,Aaron Spelling Sid Ceaser, Abe Vigoda, Mary Tyler Moore Valerie Harper etc) .He is a massive name in US and most people in Britain of a certain age or older would be very familiar with his work I would say.He strikes me as a sort of American equivalent of a Johnny Speight, Jeremy Lloyd, David Croft or Roy Clarke sort of figure. Speaking of which Clarke is 92 in January and very deathlisty also.

1 pointDeathrace Form Guide #24 Ghislaine Maxwell Jury selection is imminent. her trial proper is due to start on 29 November and according to the Sunday Times (amongst others) the repeated refusals of her bail requests have a lot to do with the authorities incarcerating her feeling she couldn't be safer than in jail. The photographic evidence suggests the journey from socialite to social pariah hasn't done any favours for her health though the investigative journalism surrounding the case (as opposed to the feeding frenzy that's willing the witnesses to drag in Prince Andrew from the start) suggests it's the names of rich and powerful Americans she might divulge that currently put her life in danger. Quite a few people - including one pathologist - think her mate Epstein didn't end his own life!

1 pointOh yeah, I totally forgot. There was a decent death hoax in February, and I completely forgot. Either way, corrections will be made to Materlist No. 2, and here's a corrected scoreboard: Leaderboard Current leader is signified in bold. KEN - 41 ULI - 32 SOX - 29 ENP - 19 SMO - 18 LYN - 17 DAR - 16 OLD - 15 TOC - 14 TQR - 14 ENG - 13 GCR - 10 CAP - 10 CHW - 9 BIB - 8 MSC - 6 LPH - 6 JRU - 0 Kenny is only 14 points off the maximum, which is a fairly impressive feat alone.

1 pointI do recall the scandal when he was caught knocking one out in a porn cinema. A moment lovingly recreated by Viz's Roger Mellie strip wherein Roger was similarly apprehended and responded by asking what his ticket price had been paid for if he wasn't able to pleasure himself to the money shot moment.

1 pointYeah, according to the local paper his crime programme continues and a few other things including How! and a book already commissioned. https://www.kentonline.co.uk/kent/news/fred-dinenage-to-leave-itv-meridian-255506/

1 pointThis is what charon had to say in the Ideas thread for 2017, which I can't quote as the topic is closed: "Not really one for next year, but don't know where else to put it.. 50 years since 'hey Joe' and 5live just had a very interesting half hour chat with one of the backing singers, a Barbara Moore. Sang on that, won the Eurovision with Puppet on string, married for 3 years to Peter Moore (the Pearl and Dean composer), did arrangement work for John Williams and retired aged forty to a château in France with a mill and half ***does sound a bit doddery*** Well worth a listen on iPlayer or Tunein etc, 3.30-4.00am" Barbara Moore died last month on 26th August: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/sep/16/barbara-moore-jimi-hendrix-elton-john-dusty-springfield Apparently also sang on The Saint TV series theme tune.

1 pointFar too many places to put this, so take a deep breath. Fran Bennett, US actress who had recurring roles in various soaps such as The Bold And The Beautiful and General Hospital, a couple of stand out roles in Quantum Leap and most recently as Mother Jefferson in Norman Lear's All In The Family And The Jeffersons, reportedly dead by the place of her teaching: She is also a miss for the Scavenger Hunt as she appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Apparently a laudable theatre career too. IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0071754/

1 pointHello all. Glad to see my baby (not to say brainchild) is still on the go. I'm still available to judge guilt of Crimes Against Humanity if anyone needs me to. I know I've got it well wrong before in at least one case. Luckily the corpse in question was dead already. Big thanks to Death Impends for keeping the show going. Is it too late to join in?

1 pointThere was a small DL Con held on Tuesday last in the Dutch town of Utrecht. Magere Hein was there and I think I was there too. Much beer was drunk. Of that I am certain. A most enjoyable event, hopefully to be repeated.

1 pointWell. I'm reminded of something I wrote a week or two ago about Rule 5: "I think the spirit of the law in this case intends to penalise those selecting very young, low hanging fruit of the tabloid variety." Admittedly he isn't extremely young, though far too young to die. I can't imagine how he could be more tabloid than he is. I mean his widow's name is Cola for pity's sake. I don't know, I've been out of the country for 20 years, but back then you would have got in the papers just for being called Cola. Low hanging fruit definitely. Which brings us to the question of his celebrity. Taking the rule literally. it follows that since his death was reported in the paper he must be famous enough to qualify for celebrity. Unfortunately his death was reported in the Mail, an organ which no intelligent person in the world, never mind Notapotato, could consider to be a reliable, respectable source of international news. So that's definitely an infringement, unless someone can find an obit somewhere else. The rules don't specify the penalty for breaking rule 2 but the tacit implication is that the candidate is not a valid choice and thus scores no points. Include with this the penalty for breaking Rule 5 and Mary should actually be getting minus points for his candidate. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That was me summarily ridiculing MPFC. Others should feel free to join in. PS: I'll leave it up to Rotten Ali to decide what really to do. He does a grand job and is probably a bit fairer than me.
