Oh shut up. You know literally nothing about anything. Trump is supporting Russia and their decisions. You blind ignorant Muppet. People are dying and you take the moment to look even more like an uninformed moron. China + Taiwan are not in the same universe geopolitically... Just take your horrible misguided opinions and stuff it. Go jerk off to OAN. Figured someone with the COVID views as you would say this.

So? I'm with @Windsor on his assessment of their marriage. I don't genuinely believe that the Queen and Philip were as close as they were idealistically portrayed as being.

Cast your mind back 10 years to the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations when the Duke of Edinburgh was taken ill and was unable to attend the evening celebratory concert. This was not the first time DoE had been taken suddenly ill. After this it took nine years a car crash and multiple hospitalisations before he finally gave up the ghost. I think we are being premature to expect the Queen to go anytime in the next 12 months

A serious question, does anyone know if safe bunker facilities are available for the DL committee and those managing the DDP, we'd be looking at record years, be a shame if the stattos weren't able to record it.

Oh aye, so... Carlisle's response to 91st position is a major shake up with Keith Millen departing "by mutual consent" 22 games into his managerial stint, and a welcome add on as far as most of the Blue Army are concerned is the departure of Director of Football David Holdsworth, the club now having decided the post isn't vital to success. Obviously having directed us downwards with some momentum the discussion between him and the board might have involved close inspection of the floor at times. Re-enter local hero, twice promotion winning manager at Brunton Park and the man who took England's youth to a World Cup: Paul "Simmo" Simpson - 90th place will do, owt else is a bonus Link:https://www.newsandstar.co.uk/sport/football/carlisle-united/

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later, but I have been complimented on my grasp of English by... Americans. Wow, thanks. Imagine living in England, bouncing around Scotland and Ireland and speaking, umm, English all that time that I'd be so good at speaking this language!

Of course, now that you made me focus on that person, I just realised that Porter Bibb is also 85 years old, the first publisher of the Rolling Stone Magazine, and he invited the band The Rolling Stones to the Altamont festival: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porter_Bibb Seems just about notable enough for our purposes.

Russophone population according to the 2001 census, so fair scope for it being out of date and obviously not reflecting the impact of the war. Despite that, Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk are definitely the standouts and give an indication of the stark differences, especially compared to the low single figures in the west.

You've got to embrace it! Got these bad boys from my aunt when she retired. When I volunteered in a charity shop I'd come home with piles of cheesy CDs and cassette tapes (I got 30 for £2 one time). The volume dial on the Hi-Fi has a mind of its own and decides how loud it wants to be, but it was FREE ffs! Considering it's the same age as me it still sounds great. Wouldn't worry about Em either. Everyone who comes over (not often) goes on about how cool and retro it is, at least until they see the stack of Now CDs.

Sauli Niinistö, President of Finland recently gave an interview to NY Times, behind a paywall: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/13/world/europe/ukraine-russia-finland-sauli-niinisto-putin-nato.html He's pretty much become an intrepeter between Putin and the West over the years and knows Putin well. What he apparently said, according to Finnish media, was that Putin's state of mind, decisiveness and ability to make judgements have "changed"
