4 pointsI watched Liz Truss waffle unknowledgeably and dangerously about stuff she clearly didn't know enough about yesterday and then almost straight after heard an interview with Rory Stewart - what a contrast. Knowledgeable, thoughtful, balanced and statesmanlike - he may not be everyone's cup of tea and he may wear the wrong hat for most but he certainly is a cut above most of the shambles currently leading the country. EDIT: So when you're eating your nuclear mushroom this is who you can thank. Russia blames Liz Truss for nuclear 'special alert' Earlier, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace downplayed the nuclear "special alert" announced by Vladimir Putin, suggesting that the Russian president wanted to distract people from his forces' slower-than-expected progress in the invasion. Wallace told the BBC: "We will not do anything to escalate in that area, we will not do anything to feed any miscalculation - we take it very, very seriously. But at the moment this is a battle of rhetoric that President Putin is deploying." Now, the Kremlin has suggested comments from Foreign Secretary Liz Truss were the reason that Russia put its nuclear forces on heightened alert, according to the Russian news agency Interfax. "There had been statements by various representatives at various levels about possible conflict situations and even collisions and clashes between Nato and the Russian Federation," said Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Vladimir Putin. "We consider such statements absolutely unacceptable. I will not name the authors of these statements, although it was the British foreign secretary." It's not clear which comments by Truss the Russian government objects to, although on Sunday she said she said she would support individuals from the UK joining an international force to fight for Ukraine.

2 pointsThey brought in a bunch of new players recently. This coincides with Banks O'Dee almost certainly winning their lower division title, which means bottom spot in the Highland League faces a relegation playoff for their spot with a very highly fancied former junior football side. This might go someway to explaining why the Fort have suddenly started playing like their lives depend on it...

2 pointsAmerican actor Ralph Ahn (wiki), dead at 95, according to a tweet from Karla LaFebre of the Motion Picture Association of America Had several Hollywood film credits in the 50s/60s (mainly uncredited ones), as well as later supporting roles on TV, including The Golden Girls. Also brother of legendary U.S. actor Philip Ahn (1905–1978) and Susan Ahn Cuddy (1915–2015) who was the first Asian-American woman to join the U.S. Navy. A unique pick on the DDP.

1 pointNo Indian politicians surviving from the 1910s now, and N. Sankaraiah the only remaining centenarian politician in India. What a change of fortune. India had a big list of centenarian political names just a couple of years back.

1 pointEncontra a Mallorca (1962) only has three cast members listed on imdb - Diana Dors, Alfredo Kraus and George Rigaud - all of whom are dead. I thought with Stuart Bevan's demise we could tick off Steptoe and Son Ride Again, but Grazina Frame is still alive and there are a couple of unknowns.

1 pointhttps://africa.cgtn.com/2022/02/17/this-102-year-old-woman-wants-to-be-nigerias-next-president/ 102-year-old Nonye Josephine Ezeanyaeche, founder of the Voice for Senior Citizens of Nigeria declares interest in running for President of Nigeria in 2023. I don't know how likely it is that she'll get over a percentage of votes, might not even be alive when the elections are held (Feb 2023) but there's always a very tiny chance...
