There are a number of large mansions in London owned by Russians which should be requisitioned and used to house refugees. No refurbishments necessary.

It goes without saying that most 'notable' people in Ukraine would not be household names in the West, nor have an English Wikipedia. How many could have named the President of Ukraine till recently...

Sort of a similar situation with my granddad, for the longest time he's been trying to find a tenant or buyer for his father's old farm house because he's not able to take care of the property now due to his age, so now he's offering the whole property for free for any refugee that wants it.

No, I'll leave that to the people who keep building extensions on to their already massive houses Constantly chipping away at the already meagre supply of affordable houses. As for me, insufficient room to retain privacy and - just as important - to offer sufficient comfort and privacy to a refugee. They will need some space too. I wish I could. If I had a bigger house, I would.

Recent picture of Mikizo Ueda: He was apparently in Hiroshima on the 6th of August 1945, but didn't get injured, atleast not seriously. In a pretty good condition for a 111-year-old, still exercises frequently.

Find 'em, fuck 'em (one way or another), and flee funster Peter Tobin is likely to get a timely publicity boost as his health continues to crumble. He's clearly a big part of the reason the death of Jessie Earl is being re-examined. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-10625751/Now-parents-42-year-quest-justice-prove-victim-notorious-serial-killer.html?fbclid=IwAR1bZy0u3BftdTS_hqT-Fnm9qMeoKr30Ywh5IQuaGbhENVXBOg2pZBAF3iU

So, these high profile Russian casualties are down to their military operation being stalled and in situ just begging hit and run attacks, then In the unlikely event they take areas and have to try and enforce the peace the insurgencies will likely keep body bag makers in work for as long as Russia decides to stay and they'll make the US/UK numbers in Afghanistan and Iraq look tame

Calling bullshit on this one. It's been a week, and although the Viscount Falmouth and his family are very private, there would be a death notice in a broadsheet now for any Earl or Viscount. Problem on Wikipedia was 2 experienced users continued to edit his page and created a new page for the presumed 10th Viscount, after an anonymous IP edited his page to say he had died. They did this without confirmation of his death, which is somewhat embarrassing. Given that these users frequently edited aristocrat type pages, it seemed safe to assume they were in the know. Both users now admit they just believed the initial edit from the anonymous IP. I will scrub the initial post later once this has been read.

Can't find a single mention of him on the Forum ever, which is surprising given his prominence and age, but anyway... Carlisle Floyd (wiki), American opera composer, dead at 95. NY Times obit. There's a big centennial celebration scheduled in 2026 for him. I guess he won't be attending then?
