3 pointsI could have sworn that was reported when it happened. He never looked the picture of health. He also looked like that Lion in the original Wizard of Oz, but that's another matter.

2 pointsEgyptian-American billionaire (Wiki) Fayez Sarofim dead at age 92-93. Well-known in Texas, Houston especially, as he donated millions to the area. A part-owner of the NFL team Houston Texans as well. Not particularly note-worthy unless one is a business/stocks aficionado.

2 pointsI thought she was brilliant in Eldorado as Gwen Lockhead. I firmly believe caving into the press and axing Eldorado was a big mistake by the BBC. The shows ratings had significantly improved and its teething problems/early difficulties pretty much ironed out.

2 pointsJohn Hinckley Jr., attempted assassin of Ronald Reagan, is 67. Whether this is a "happy" birthday depends on your view of Reagan. What's happened since then? He was released from psychiatric care in 2016, and is scheduled to be unconditionally released next month. Oh, and he joined social media in 2020. Profiles below:

2 pointsEverything Everywhere All at Once An incredible onslaught on senses and mind. The sheer intensity of everything gets a little watered down because the movie is 20 minutes too long, but until then, two thumbs up.

1 pointBBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood celebrates her 60th birthday today. American singer LaToya Jackson, the seventh child of the famous Jackson family and older sister of Michael and Janet Jackson , turns 66 today. Less commercially successful in her career in music than some of her more famous siblings LaToya still had a respectable career particularly in the 1980s when she wrote and she was one of the singers and celebrities who performed the anti drugs song 'Stop the madness' as part of the 'Just Say No' initiative by first lady Nancy Reagan in her famous antidrug campaign .

1 pointOn this day in 2005 Liberal Democrat MP Patsy Calton died from breast cancer aged 56. She was first diagnosed with cancer in 1997 and it returned early 2005. Patsys political career began in Stockport Metropolitan council were she rose to the level of deputy leader but was first elected to the House of Commons in 2001 , beating sitting conservative MP Stephen Day but only just- she achieved an ultra slim majority of 33. She was relected in 2005 with a much increased majority of over 4000 despite not being well enough to campaign for votes. Patsy died less than four weeks after she was relected and just five days after she was sworn back in the House of Commons seriously ill in a wheelchair by speaker Michael Martin. Martin broke with convention at Patsys swearing in and shook her hand and kissed her saying Welcome home Patsy. I think what happened to Patsy is terribly sad so I hope this doesn't sound cruel or insensitive but I genuinely struggle to put myself in her shoes and understand why when she was clearly dying after her cancer returned in her spine in February 2005 she bothered to put herself forward for reelection? Perhaps some rules over nomination papers? I'm not sure but I do vaguely recall there was some muted criticism of the situation just after she died but it obviously didn't gain much traction because of the sadness of the circumstances and fear of seeming heartless.

1 pointNapoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of the French, died on this day 201 years ago, aged 51. There are many, many things to be said about his conquest of Europe, and the Battle of Waterloo- so I'm going to delve into his seldom-talked about exile on Saint Helena. Following his famous defeat, Napoleon was sent to said island, which is located in the southern Atlantic Ocean, far from any other landmass. A troop of British soldiers were sent with him to prevent his escape, as he had done from Elba in 1814. Napoleon was sent to live at Longwood House, a dilapidated mansion that was formerly a farm of the colonial East India Company. Napoleon complained about his living situation, which was in a damp environment, and caused illness to both him and his attendants- perhaps in an attempt to get him to die faster. While on Saint Helena, Napoleon wrote memoirs about his life, and a biography about Julius Caesar. He was also taught how to read in English. To cure his boredom, he often played solitaire. Napoleon's isolation led to depression, and he confined himself to Longwood for the final few years of his life. His health rapidly deteriorated in early 1821, and he was bedridden by March of that year. The most common theory on how Napoleon died was from stomach cancer- the surgeon who performed his autopsy had found an ulcer, and his family had a history with the disease- Napoleon's father Carlo had also died from it. Arsenic poisoning was also suggested- people at the time were constantly being exposed to it via glues and dyes, the wallpaper in Longwood contained copper arsenite (for the dye), and the arsenic levels in Napoleon's body were 100 times above normal.
