4 pointsMitzi Gaynor, the talented and wonderful American actress, dancer and singer remembered for numerous musical films such as "Anything Goes", "Les Girls", "South Pacific" and "There's No Business Like Show Business", is 91 today. Edward de Souza, British character actor of Portuguese descent probably recognized for his roles in films such as "The Spy Who Loved Me", "The Thirty Nine Steps", "The Return of the Soldier", "The Golden Compass", and multiple television series, is 90 today. Edward de Souza is a really fine actor.

4 pointsNot mentioned a lot here (in fact his surname only has 39 mentions), but a major name that will obit: Boris Spassky. The chess GM who famously lost to Bobby Fischer 50 years ago is now 85 and in bad health. He's had two strokes and has been in frail health since his second, more severe stroke in 2010. Rarely seen anywhere anymore

1 pointTried this again and what seems to be messing it up is the display box that comes up when you post a link. Get rid of that, so only the actual link itself is in the post, and everything's normal.

1 pointIt's not often I would post the death of a local politician. But this has to be done. Death Notice for John Corbet-Singleton aged 94, Tory Councillor first elected to Kensington And Chelsea Council in 1956 and a former Lord Mayor for the area: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/259299/corbet-singleton So here's a story the Daily Mail did on him from 2018, about a Homeshare scheme which paired folks from different generations to share living space: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5332445/Britains-unlikely-flatmates-Poppy-24-John-89.html I wonder if Poppy has moved on before this or is now looking for new digs. And think of the poor relatives of John, who will have to decide what to do with that five storey Regency townhouse a stone's throw from the King's Road.

1 pointAnd the other four were also in series of two that happened days apart. Looking through previous years on the list, it’s not unheard of for there to be scattered clusters of deaths like this for whatever reason, but 2022 has been a really pronounced example of it.

1 pointSmall list of the oldest religious leaders with Wikipedia pages - born 1922 and before. Incomplete, and I might add 1923 and 1924 later. Bishops Manuel Edmilson da Cruz (1924), Serafín Luis Alberto Cartagena Ocaña (1924) and Gaetano Bonicelli (1924) not included, no English wiki page. Saifur Rahman Nizami not included - age fraud. Ramadan Dib (1920) and Non Nget (1922) also not included due to lack of wiki page. Paul Mwazha (25 October 1918?) Zimbabwe Leader of the African Apostolic Church since he founded it in 1959. Not completely sure if he's 103 either, but he sure looks like it and nothing points otherwise. Addold Mossin (12 December 1919 - 16 March 2024) Estonia Neopaganist priest. 1 pointYou are right and wrong at the same time. For many people Justin Bieber is one of the biggest names in music. For many people Justin Bieber is a firecracker (for me at least). For example... Glenn Close got nominated for an Oscar and a Razzie for the same role this year. Is she good or bad? Her performance... Is good or bad? For me she's one of the greatest of her generation and she's fantastic and the best of the film. But... The taste is the taste.
