8 pointsWell this thread needs to get to 200 pages somehow, so here's the first part to a very pointless list, though hopefully some will find it interesting and reflective. 6 pointsMark Hamill, American film, stage, television actor and voice artist who was cast in "Star Wars" (1977), the remarkable film which started it all, and his life changed after becoming famous worldwide for his role of Luke Skywalker, is 71 today. Hamill is also a voice-over talent with a repertoire of over 200 voices. Jean Sorel, the sensational French film, stage and television actor who was one of the most handsome leading men of the European cinema in the 1960s and 1970s, is 88 today. He worked in the French, Italian and Spanish cinema with such filmmakers as Visconti and Buñuel. With Luchino Visconti in the extraordinary film "Sandra", as the incestuous brother of Claudia Cardinale. The film won the Golden Lion and the Silver Ribbon at the Festival of Venice. Luis Buñuel directed him in the masterpiece "Belle de Jour". Sorel played the paralyzed husband of Catherine Deneuve.

5 pointsSurely if you were one of the most evil people on the planet you would be celebrated when you got to hell? I’ve never understood the logic in Satan/The Devil punishing evil doers on God’s behalf when presumably the said Devil thinks God is a bit of a Cunt. So if she was the most evil person on the planet and if she is now in hell, I would imagine she has earned herself an upper management position at the very least…

2 points"It's all his fault we are spending $6 billion in tax payer dollars on HIV and AIDS this month". The cognitive decline of this man is absolutely apparent. I can’t believe there are some on this forum who are still flat out denying it. We ought to keep a close watch on him, and if it gets worse then he should be considered for DL in a few years.

2 pointsWell looks like John Hartman died on December 29, 2021!! Yet, they only thought to inform the public last week. Worrying that a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can die off radar for so long.
-
2 pointsJames Earl Jones good to put on the list now he's "officially" retired from voicing Darth Vadar. I mean he is 91.

2 pointsBut her fondest memories of summers spent with her family are from Balmoral... I spend most of my days working in the financial district of London... doesn't mean I want to die there.

1 point! As announced before, an upgraded version of Twisted DL opens ! Rules : Make a list of 20 names + 3 subs who could die between 1st of October 2022 and 1st of October 2023. The one winning is the one with the most points at the end of the year, thus the most hits as one hit = one point. Every time a pick of your list dies, the first sub on your list of 3 replace the dead pick in his/her position and enters the official list of 20. Then, you’ll have to choose another celeb to take the n°3 spot on your sub list. The subs left will move up from one spot putting them a step closer to the official list. If a sub dies before being on the list, then notify it and choose another celeb to enter at spot nº3. Each subs left behind will move one spot up. You can choose similar celebrities as other participants. The only criteria for their admission is a qualifying obit when they pass : a qualifying obit means an article in English or in French. You can choose whoever you want as long as they're famous enough (which means they have articles about their action available online, wikipedias article about them, acknowledgment in their field…) Entries are now opened : you can send me your list in private message. They'll be uncovered on the first of October when the competition begins. Every time you have a hit, just quote your previous list and cross the hit to make it easier for me please and choose another celeb. I'll make sure to make a recap every week (or so) of every death and everyone's points. Feel free to tell me if I forget about your hit in your point ranking or anything like that. Hope everything is clear, Good Luck !

1 pointAt first I was confused by this because I could have sworn this guy died recently. Then I realized that it was U.S Navy flying ace Dean Laird that died at the age of 101 this August and to make this coincidence even wilder, another notable U.S WWII veteran by the name of Dean Ladd, who had served in the Marine Corps, witnessed several battles, wrote a book about his experiences in the war and was also believed to be the oldest living U.S Marine Corps veteran at the time of his death, had died in August, also at the age 101 years old.

1 pointShe might be flying high with the angels but her spirit remains in many people that aren't flying yet, no need to close a thread because she died. We aren't going to forget because she is now laid to rest, we will prefer to have a place to still talk about this loving woman. Whether you loved her or not the thread stays open until it dies its own death.

1 pointMy take is they know they are fucked at the next election so they intend to brazenly give their rich mates a reverse golden handshake. A bit like those COVID contracts they gave out.

1 pointSeems DL-y to post the novelty cash-in song about him by "Angela & The Fans", which was actually Alma Cogan on the downswing of her fame and, as it turned out, dying of stage 4 stomach cancer:
