5 pointsEasier to see why prog rock was popular when the alternative was Tie a Fuckin Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree (edit: Which will be getting -6 from me until it's gone). Now that probably was Dawns most gut wrenching track ever.

5 pointsSunak’s first PMQs was fucking dismal. Truss was karaoke Johnson, and Sunak is karaoke Truss. Piss-weak obfuscation, non-answers, a large Sue Ellen-shaped scandal after just hours, and the nerve, in light of how far down the swanny we’ve sunk in the past 12 years (particularly the last few months of that) to suggest that the opposition are the ones who can’t be trusted with economic matters, and to paint Starmer as the one who’s out of touch because he’s based in North London, coming from the man who’s rich as Croesus and is on record boasting about funnelling money away from deprived areas into rich leafy towns. The grown ups are still not in the building, and never will be under the Tories until they are demolished and rebuilt. Oust these clowns at once.

5 pointsOmar Borras, who as Uruguay manager in 1986 coined the "Group of Death" moniker, has died aged 93. This happened last week, @Octopus of Odstock, but a quick forum search suggested it hadn't been mentioned yet. All Scotland had to do was beat his ten-man side. Sigh.

5 pointsIt's common in America, particularly in states like Oklahoma where Elizabeth Warren is from. It's usually a folktale handed down by the family, about their great-great grandparents. So they're not exactly lying, even though it's not true. Usually they claim Cherokee, due to the infamy of the Trail of Tears. Johnny Depp, Miley Cyrus, and Johnny Cash are other examples. I think Heather Locklear is actually Native American (Lumbee tribe). To the extent of Sacheen Littlefeather or Iron Eyes Cody (the Crying Indian), no that is extremely bizarre. To get college subsidies, you'd have to be an official member of a tribe and go through the tribe's education department.

5 pointsTimes death notice for Joyce Aylard (wiki), aged 97, codebreaker at Bletchley Park during WWII. Just four surviving Bletchley Park WRENs and codebreakers with Wiki pages now: Ruth Bourne (wiki, b. 1926) Phyllis Dalton MBE (wiki, b. 1925) Eleanor Ireland (wiki, b. 1926) Betty Webb MBE (wiki, b. 1923) I'd say each of them will get a QO, so worthy DDP material for next year. There will be a few others without Wiki pages also.

4 pointsYeah, I listened to the ones I couldn't put a tune to on YouTube. Usually quickly followed by "Oh christ, not that one..."

3 pointsAll this reminds me why I detest Karaoke. If you like the track - you don't want to hear it tunelessly slaughtered by tone-deaf drunks. If you don't like the track - you don't want to hear it at all, whether rendered by tone-deaf drunks or not. The very definition of lose lose.

3 pointsAmazing Grace by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Band beats the shit out of both of them.

3 pointsOh when it gets to 1972-73, I foresee 90% of my positive points going to Alice Cooper. There isn't a lot of other options, bar T. Rex, Slade and the Van der Valk theme.
