Joey Grey was on my possibility list for this month and this year. The reason is because Loretta Lynn sadly passed away in October of 2022 and I feel like Loretta needs a celebrity with a similar birth date to be reunited with.

Interesting question. Could be Lucius Banda, reggae & Afropop singer-songwriter with 9 studio albums to date? Or it might be Malia, whose albums garnered fair recognition across Europe. Or the late Tony Bird if we’re including dead people, who was an anti-colonialist icon with a musical style comparable to Bob Dylan. Oh shit none of them reached Michigan so they’re all nobodies dw.

Can we get rid of the requirement that the show must have 5 living cast members? I feel that is limiting the choices to only more recent and newer shows hence younger picks hence fewer deaths.

Alright, let us see if I can squeeze in an update in my lunch break. Thankfully, the deaths in this update were not very obscure, and you notified me of the rest, so it should be easy. Obviously, Rolf Harris was picked by almost everyone, even sam081 - meaning everybody is now on the board! He was a joker for a few players, too. LadyFiona did get her obit for Kenneth McAlpine, nothing to worry about. Cpt. Hemlocks unique left-field hits continue with Richard Riordan and Gordon Lightfoot, quite impressive. Banana scores a unique hit with Robert Zimmer. While DDP QO was tricky, the NYT obit probably wasn't in doubt. Barry Humphries was a unique hit for Goooseberry Crumble, who is indeed doing very well with all the minor but plentiful hits. Tina Turner was a sad hit, but maybe a little reading between the lines should have made her a more popular hit. Eventually, the tank runs out of gas. Ed Ames was a unique hit for Torva Messor. He got Yahoo, too, but as with Robert Zimmer, the New York Times stepped up. Here's a surprise: Superstar Billy Graham was a UNIQUE hit, for Death Impends. Everybody got kind of tired of him, but who can blame us... Jim Brown was another unique hit, for tracy. Tim Keller was a well-timed not-quite-gamble for a couple of players. And finally SR Hinduja, member of the "UKs richest family" (even before the Windsors? If you factor in all the secret accounts and holdings, I guess not!) another unique hit, like, really unique, for msc. Wait... that's not it. Denny Crum, of course. Already a while back. And Menahem Pressler, unique hit for Radguy, the only one to pick both Presslers. Larry is still taking his time though. Oh, and Carolyn Bryant Donham, the Emmett Till accuser. You know, updating this pool always feels a bit like a mop-up situation, everybody picked in any pool anywhere already, is also picked here. Okay, I am hoping that this is everything, but before I leave you with the scoreboard, one notice for the replacement period: THE REPLACEMENT PERIOD ENDS on "the beginning of July 1st", meaning you have until the end of the 30th of June to give me 5 new names you want to use instead of five other names you want to switch out. As soon as you give me the names for the switch, the old ones will no longer score, even if they die immediately afterwards. And the new names will only score with the beginning of July. That means, yes, there is a "dead zone" between submitting the replacements and July 1st, in which you'd score for neither name. Names that fail the fame requirement will not count. Once you submit your names to me, there can be no second list, i.e. this is it. So please, be sure of the names you submit. She's long gone now and she didn't quite make it to supercentenarian status but here is an interview with a very sharp 105 year-old who was born back in the 1880s that I found fascinating: Pity Carson jokes around with her so much he doesn't really probe into her early memories or what life was like for her as a kid that much or her views on the world today. Still a fun view though.

So, he was 20 when they got married and she was 12? That may well have been legal when they married. The legal minimum age for marriage in England was 14 for boys and 12 for girls until well into the 20th century. It was raised to 16 for both some time in the 1920s, I believe. Yes, 1929! here you are - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Marriage_Act_1929 They were born and married in India. Then I guess it was legal there, too. Point is, most people don't realise how recently such marriages were perfectly legal in England. Even more recent in Ireland, I think.
