Former international umpire Piloo Reporter reported (!) dead aged 84. He, along with fellow Indian umpire VK Ramaswamy became the furst neutral umpires since 1912 when they officiated in the 1992 Pakistan - West Indies series. Reporter also officiated in the 1986 World Cup. He's alleged to have received a payment from a bookie for a pitch report in 1993.

September 2 Twelfth hit: Mohamed Al-Fayed Well, it didn't take long for the 'no 11th hit without a 12th' rule of thumb to come into play. With twelve hits now, this moves the game into the range of 12-22 hits where the bonuses and penalties are given out like candy and snatched away from the babes too. A quick comment on the accounting to keep track of scores is in order then. At the start, everyone was given the penalty of -2 for not hitting a joker and -2 for being out by more than five hits. 22 jokers have been hit so many have had this penalty removed. But the hits range is -2 (starting default), then as the hits occur: +2 (5 or less out), +2 (within 1), +4 (exact match), -4 (not matching), -2 (more than 1 away), -2 (more than 5 away). The game has reached a player who is at the exact match and those at 12-17 predicted hits are at one or more penalties removed/bonus. This has been a hit for 7 punters (7 hits, 0 joker). A few with Third hit bonuses (4 punters) too. Total hits: 7 Teams with hit: 7 Punters: chilean way, ThereWillBeDeaths7, Great Uncle Bulgaria, DoorSlammer, The Duke of Deadinburgh, The Old Crem, Annami Again, DoorSlammer gets a hit, with an impressive 10/12 hit rate. Teams with joker: 0 Punters: N/A Third hit bonus First round (3 hits): Great Uncle Bulgaria Second round (6 hits): ThereWillBeDeaths7, The Old Crem, Annami Within 5 predicted hits: Etushispushingupdaisies, tracy, The Duke of Deadinburgh (17 predicted hits) Within 1 predicted hit: diego, Great Uncle Bulgaria (13 predicted hits) Exact hit match: Grimgrass (12 predicted hits) As mentioned above, the range of 12-22 hits will mean constant changes to the rankings based on hits alone. Grimgrass wides the lead in first place, with Diego in second and Joltin Joe in third. Tied at fourth are gcreptile, wannamaker, DoorSlammer and Great Uncle Bulgaria. Another hit will change the ranks again, as more bonuses come into play... Updated Score Al-Fayed Third Hit Bonus Within 5 hits (17 predicted) Within 1 hit (13 predicted) Exact match (12 predicted) Grimgrass 0 4 diego -3 2 Joltin Joe -5 gcreptile -6 wannamaker -6 DoorSlammer -6 1 Great Uncle Bulgaria -6 1 1 2 LizLemon -8 Bibliogryphon -8 Sean -9 Newjack -9 Etushispushingupdaisies -9 2 Summer in Transylvania -10 Joey Russ -10 Book -10 tracy -10 2 YoungWillz -11 Annami -11 1 1 TQR -12 Torva Messor -12 theoldlady -12 The Old Crem -12 1 1 Funeralopolis -13 Hell -13 Dying Probably -13 The Duke of Deadinburgh -13 1 2 ThereWillBeDeaths7 -14 1 1 The Daredevil -16 WinterCake -17 chilean way -19 1

A solid list, indeed, but what is even more interesting is that the average age of a 2023 DL entry is 90.42 years old. Now, granted, the ages displayed on the main list take into account upcoming birthdays for the ongoing year, but that might be the highest average for a DeathList yet. The lowest age seems to be that of Andy Taylor (currently 62), while the oldest entry is Norman Lear at 101. If we look at the 2020 DL, we can notice that the average age is 89.1 years old because, while the upper half of the list has many old entries, the lower half is more mixed. The youngest name was Tom Smith at 49, with the oldest being Kirk Douglas and Olivia de Havilland at 104. There are also more octogenarians on the 2020 DL. We'll see if the 2024 DeathList continues this trend of raising the overall entry age and taking fewer risks when it comes to younger, usually very sick or terminally ill picks. This is not a critique, though, because it seems to be working very well so far! It might be interesting to compare the current list to the 2020 DL in terms of notoriety, too, although that can be quite subjective. Wow, this post was utterly useless trivia... but self-awareness is key.

I'm lifting the ban on "Diego" for now. Any legit complaints about his conduct and he's back out.

John Laws hospitalised for weeks with pneumonia, but "on the mend". He had recurrent pneumonia last year and has had dangerous bouts since the 2000s but says he "won't retire anytime soon". Reminds me of Alan Jones, the other living Aussie radio guy I've heard of who's also been quite ill for years with brain cancer, prostate cancer, skin cancer, blood clots, blood poisoning and septic shock, e-coli, pulmonary embolisms, massive amounts of surgeries and swollen legs/knees. I wonder which one of them will die first as both seem to always recover from massive health issues.

I don't care all that much about chart topping (funny since I'm participating in this...) but Justin was part of an absolutely aggressive payola charts era that celebrated the monopolization of the music industry. So fuuuuck he's so annoying. Prince spoke out! Relatedly, I hope that Timbaland participates in Missy's induction in the RnR hall of fame in November.

Yes I recall Lady Colin Campbell mentioning his frail health on her YouTube channel when she was refuting bizarre conspiracy theories that Al Fayed was bankroll Harry and Meghan- some even saying he paid them to do the Oprah Winfrey interview in a bid to destroy the monarchy! She emphasised that his health was so poor that such a machevillian feat was beyond impossible.

Al Fayed's death shouldn't have come as a surprise. He was 94 and known to have been seriously ill for some time.
