Sir Sam Neill, regarded as one of the most versatile actors of his generation, was diagnosed with Stage III Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma last year. More recently, his chemo has stopped working and he is on a drug that is also seemingly likely to run out of puff sooner rather than later. A rather real possibility for the DL 2024 at this rate.

One of those you might not know their name or face but definitely know their voice if you've watched golf over last the last couple of decades

Being Secret Service to him has to be the chillest job in the world by now. Also page 69, nice.

He's the second MP whose surname gives away their misconduct, after Chris Pincher.

"Well, there was this one bit of tottie numerous years ago, and obviously when I could still get it up without medical assistance...Resisting my advances was wrong on their part. But I have learned from this and have only employed people who make the elephant man look pretty, and who will be easily bought for a few pounds to testify to my impeccable record as an employer and MP." To paraphrase.

You really love being the acculturated one in the room I was just pointing out that just because you never heard of him it doesn't mean that he is just a niche character for french people. Glad you fancy Kitano movies, we can start a digression about cinema in the proper section but there was no need to rattle off your knowledge, I discovered many interesting personalities thanks to the forum and sometimes thanks to your work, take this opportunity to discover La Haine and appreciate the movies and the man behind them

@Bibliogryphon Just a reminder that you haven't crossed off Frederic Forrest or Pat Cooper from the main list yet.

Gosh I was so pleased to hear I'd had a hit with Jordan Pickford I didn't read properly any further to find out about Feliciano Lopez too! Thanks very much for your research @The Old Crem

Nice case of nominative determinism in today's Guardian obits, with flute and oboe player Norman Blow.

Updated scores as of 2nd September: The Old Crem - 195 points (Ashleigh Barty, Princess Eugenie, Paris Hilton, Henry Slade, Tom Daley, Serena Williams, Kourtney Kardashian, Pixie Lott, Rebecca Adlington) LizLemon - 140 points (Peta Murgatroyd, Kourtney Kardashian - joker, Clare Crawley) Diego - 130 points (Paris Hilton - Joker, Lindsay Lohan, Daniel Radcliffe, Brenda Song) LadyFiona - 115 points (Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Brenda Song, Jason Kenny, Tom Daley, Shane Dawson) DeathBecomesThem - 45 points (Paris Hilton, Jessa Seewald (miscarriage)) Gooseberry Crumble - 0 points If anyone has been missed then please let me know. Congrats to @The Old Crem and you are now 5 points off from 200. Meanwhile football players are having a family just not the right ones for @Gooseberry Crumble. Keep an eye on Jessa Seewald because there are some pregnancy rumours about after having a miscarriage start of the year. Also Olympia Valance is doing "everything in her power" to try and get pregnant after having a miscarriage two years ago. Britney Spears is divorcing her husband so I don't think anything will happen there.

I found this graphic summarizes just how rough 2023 has been, and it is only August. Three have been DDP hits (Superstar, Iron Sheik, Funk) for the respective wrestler theme teams.

Been home alone and laid up with an injury today so I’ve binged a Netflix series that dropped a few years ago now but I’ve only just got round to it - The End of the F***ing World. Really enjoyed it. Alex Lawther plays a damn good quiet psychopath.

An urn with the ashes of former Crumble alumni Clarissa Eden in it has more political acumen and know how in 2022 than Richard Leonard. As does a sock puppet.
