52 days of drought again. Since the last poll, only Bob Barker, Mangosuthu Buthelezi and Giorgio Napolitano have died, before a two-months drought which is still ongoing. With half of them hospitalised, in ICU, in hospice care or even zombified, who will be the next to break the drought?

It's easy to mix them up, so a refresher. Lord Carrington was a politician who, despite some flaws, was a WW2 hero, a solid public servant, the man who implemented free elections in Zimbabwe after sorting out peace there when everyone thought it was impossible, a vastly respected diplomat, and the man who tried to prevent the Falklands War before it was a thing, in vain as Maggie wasn't listening. Lord Cameron... is a cunt. Hope that helps.

King Fulk of Jerusalem died on this day 880 years ago, aged 54. - Fulk was French, and was the son of count Fulk IV of Anjou. He succeeded his father in the position upon his death in 1109, as Fulk V. - Fulk would go on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 1119, and would help fund the recently-founded Knights Templar. He planned to return to France in 1127, but king Baldwin II wanted him to marry his daughter Melisende. Fulk agreed to this on the terms he would rule alongside her, and would forfeit Anjou in favor of his son Geoffrey (Plantagenet) to stay in Jerusalem. - Fulk would become king of Jerusalem in 1131, and effectively made himself the sole ruler. He was not well-liked by other crusader states' rulers (thinking he would invade them) and the general populace (who were more loyal to Melisende). Fulk would only acquiesce power to Melisende after an assassination attempt on him in 1134. - Fulk would die after a 12-year reign while hunting- his horse fell and he was struck in his head by its saddle. Melisende outlived him, but their son Baldwin III would reign with her. - Fulk was the paternal grandfather of king Henry II of England.

Says a lot about the current state of the Conservative Party that there isn't a single one of his 346 colleagues in the House of Commons he'd rather have in the role (I excluded Sunak, Hunt, Cleverley and Leaky Sue from that number).
