4 pointsIt's the start of a new month, so what better time to take stock of who has croaked it over the past few weeks. One person who has definitely gone to meet her maker, but without much fanfare is Canadian centenarian educator Isabella Dryden. The only obit I can see is from Gilbert nursing home, and we all know that that doesn't cut the mustard around here. @BabyBluecan now scour the internet for any further mentions of her passing in order to claim the points on offer. They can be joined in that endeavour by @Salmon Mousse who is still looking for anyone who has noticed Bobby Hehir's death other than his family. The following are definite bona fide hits for their pickers. If I have missed any obscure deaths, please let me know. In any case, I will likely pick up the stragglers when I google all of the names at the half way point at the end of the month. I can hardly wait - another day of my life spent googling obscure Russian scientists. May 13th: Alice Munro May 14th: Gudrun Ure May 16th: Dabney Coleman May 17th: Bud Anderson May 25th: Richard. M Sherman May 29th: Anastasia Zavorotnyuk June 1st: Ruth MAria Kubitschek June 1st: Tin Oo June 2nd: Rob Burrow Tin Oo's unlikely passing means that the ding-dong battle between @arghton and @gcreptile swings back Arghtons way as they regain top spot. A Zavorotnyuk/Burrow double brings @John Keyup into third place, and they also have the unusual distinction of having a hit in every month so far. Alice Munro seemed an unlikely Joker hit for both @GuyFromFutureand @JoeMoneypenny, until I remembered that they were two of the lazy feckers who didn't submit a Joker, and so were assigned the first name on their list. Unsurprisingly, Rob Burrow was a popular selection - the 21 picks making him the 6th most popular pick of the year, and making a lot of Bank Holiday work for your host. Especially when he incorrectly put the date of death into the spreadsheet 21 times as June 1st, and then had to back and change it 21 times. Down at the bottom, 2 players have hauled themselves up off the bench, done a few stretches, and wandered out onto the track. @Yvonnegot their first every hit in this pool with Dabney Coleman, and so loved the experience that she followed it up the next day with Bud Anderson. And ominously for all other players, the deadpooling beast that is @Death Impendshas finally stirred into action with a Gudrun Ure hit. Watch your back everyone! Here is the top 10. As always, the full scoreboard is on page 1. Arghton (720 points) 9 hits [Abdul Taib Mahmud, Beverly Lahaye, Jaako Valtanen, Ma Shitu, Paul Vachon, Solihin GP, Swami Smaranananda, Tin Oo, Zhang Lixiong] Gcreptile (637 points) 9 hits [Corey Williams, Frank Field, Franz Beckenbauer, Jason Smith, Jonnie Irwin, Josip Manolic, Paul Vachon, Thomas Stafford, Zhang Lixiong] John Key (619 points) 7 hits [Anastasia Zavorotnyuk, Derek Draper, Frank Field, Joe Shannon, Jonnie Irwin, Josip Manolic, Rob Burrow] Captain Chorizo (529 points) 7 hits [Glynis Johns, Jaime De Arminan, Lynne Reid Banks, Paul Vachon, Philip De Gaulle, Rob Burrow, Roland Bertin] Hell (480 points) 7 hits [Charlie Bird, Derek Draper, Frank Field, Glynis Johns, Jonnie Irwin, Josip Manolic, Rob Burrow] Nantonian (468 points) 7 hits [Derek Draper, Frank Field, Jack Burke Jr., Mario Zagallo, Petyer Oosterhuis, Rob Burrow, Stan Bowles] Toast (452 points) 6 hits [Dave Myers*, Frank Field, Glynis Johns, Jonnie Irwin, Rob Burrow, Toby Keith] GrimUpNorth (450 points) 7 hits [Dave Myers, Derek Draper, Frank Field, Jason Smith, Jonnie Irwin*, Rob Burrow, Toby Keith] Drol (426 points) 8 hits [Frank Field, Jonnie Irwin, Ma Shitu, Mario Zagallo, Manohar Joshi, Toby Keith, Yuri Solomin, Zhang Lixiong] The RadGuy (404 points) 7 hits [Brian Barczyk, Charlie Bird, Franz Beckenbauer, Joe Shannon, Jonnie Irwin*, Rob Burrow, Toby Keith]

3 pointsWho cares? If the mothers want a Mothers Day, let them. If the fathers want a Fathers Day, let them. If the cancer beaters want a Cancer Beaters Day, let them. If the gays want a Gays Day, let them. If the pancakes want a Pancake Day, let them. If you (a general ‘you’, not anyone specific) are not one of the people the particular day is aimed at, it probably has absolutely no effect on your life on that day, so what does it matter?

2 points"Good witch of the east" geddit?! Cause she's fucking Asian!! *da bum tiss* For real, this tweet just shows that Seán Lennon is a talentless nepo baby without a poetic bone in his body. If he was talented he might have come up with something better than the racially clumsy "good witch of the east" descriptor.

2 pointsRobbed of life 6/50 2nd June 2024 Rugby legend Rob Burrow has died following an almost five year battle with motor neurone disease. Borrow joined Leeds Rhinos rugby team in 1999 and started playing for them in 2001 and very quickly became a valued and regular member of the squad. 2004 saw him joining England’s national rugby league team, playing in 13 games nationally. His career at the Rhinos saw him appearing 492 times for the team across 16 years, scoring almost 200 tries and earning over 1000 points. He retired from the sport in 2017, with his final match seeing the Rhinos beat the Castleford Tigers in the final of Super League XXII. Sadly in December 2019 Burrow revealed he had been diagnosed with MND, a horrific disease that damages motor neurons in the muscles. Since his diagnosis, with the help of former teammate Kevin Sinfield he has raised awareness of the illness and raised millions of pounds to provide care for those afflicted. In 2021 he was appointed an MBE and in 2024 a CBE. Burrow died earlier today aged just 41. He was making his second appearance on the Crowdsourced Deathlist, this year at no.19

2 pointsI found something interesting that may interest French people here. Madeleine Della Monica (Wiki), French egyptologist (born 1912) still alive and will be 112 this July. Her page is being edited many times by her granddaughter explaining that she is in good health. This is a photo of her (in the middle) taken in 2012 on the 100th anniversary of her birth. In the photo are her two friends Lucie and Jeanne, also born in 1912 https://www.calameo.com/read/0010581036cb4c78c318e Lucie died in 2013 a year later at 100 and Jeanne died in 2017 at 104. Madeleine was the oldest and survive them.

1 pointI was at a convention last month and both him and Garrick Hagon where there, both of them seem fine, and it's likely neither of them have anything to worry about anytime soon. Angus MacInnes was meant to be there too but he pulled out at the last minute but given this was last month and he seems to be back to normal on social media it's probably nothing to worry about.

1 pointI'm a huge fan of classic actors/films and this thread was a great thread for someone like me. This thread was a very interesting thread for several years. This is true, though it seems incredible. You're a very intelligent person, so clearly you reached this thread by mistake, @RoverAndOut. Don't waste your more than deserved free time with this idiot thread... it's a dry and hard excrement.

1 pointHow about the three left from the Guinness Four. Ernest Saunders (the man who knows the cure for alzheimers), Gerald Ronson and Anthony Parnes. All of an age and would get obits for notoriety alone.
