2 pointsOK, so as per @MortalCaso's request, here are some end of game stats for Round 5 of the Scavenger Hunt, and how it measures up to previous rounds! Game 5 took just over 17 months from start to finish. This is technically the second shortest game after Game 3 (which I also chose the categories for! ) which lasted just 8 months due to the James Bond Massacre. But 3 of the 5 games have now finished in around 17 months (Game 1 lasted about a week longer and Game 4 about 2 weeks longer). Game 2 was by far the longest game, lasting a whopping 27 months! In Game 5, we had 27 hits during active gameplay. This was perhaps surprising given we had 27 players, by far the most of any game. Game 2 (33 hits) and Game 4 (48 hits!) had more, while Game 1 had 24 hits and Game 3 had just 19 due to its short nature. The most profitable category in this game was Oscar Nominated Actors, with 10 hits (enough to win twice over!), while the least profitable was Brit Award Winners with just 2 hits. Across all 5 games, 10 is about average for a game, with House of Lords (Game 1) and James Bond Actors (Game 3) also being top with 10. Grammys (Game 2) had 11 hits and Olympic Gold Medallists (Game 4) had an impressive 14 hits! And while 2 hits for the Brits seems low, aside from Title Winning Boxers (Game 2) with 3 hits, the lowest in each round has actually been lower! Eurovision Performers (Game 3) and Cabinet Ministers (Game 4) both saw just 1 hit apiece, while the US Presidential Candidates category in Game 1 didn't see a single hit during gameplay! @BuffaloPhil won with his 8th hit of the game. This is about normal, with @Banana (Game 3) and me (@RoverAndOut) in Game 2 also winning with our 8th hits. @Rotten Ali won Game 1 with just his 7th hit, while my second win in Game 4 was with my 10th hit, the most of any game so far. For just the second time in 5 games, the person with the most hits in the game did not win! Games 2 and 4 (Rover) and 3 (Banana) were all won by the person with the most hits, but Game 1 (which Rotten Ali won) saw me and @Death Impends lead the way with 8 hits, but Ali win with 7. This time, @gcreptile had an impressive 11 hits, the most of any player so far in regular gameplay, but it was not enough to clinch the title! For the 3rd (or 4th) time in 5 games, the first person to reach a winning position did not end up winning! Rotten Ali was first to a winning position and did win Game 1, and Banana was joint-1st to the winning point in Game 3 and ended up winning. But in Game 2, Death Impends was first to the winning position, but only finished 5th overall (I was joint-7th to the winning position and won with the very next hit!). Reptile was joint-1st with Banana in Game 3 and finished 3rd and @msc was first to reach a winning position in Game 4, but missed out on the podium, finishing 4th! (I was 4th out of 13 to reach a winning position!). It remains to be seen how long it takes @Spade_Cooley to complete this game - he has been waiting for a Brit Award Winner to die since August last year! Tough luck, Spade! 10 players were within 1 hit of victory when Game 5 finished this week, and 3 more reached a winning position with the winning hit! This was similar to Game 4, which had 13 players 1 hit away when the game ended, while Games 2 and 3 both had 7 players in the mix and Game 1 had 5 on the verge of winning when Ali ended the game. @Commtech Sio Bibble and @Captain Hemlock unfortunately did not score a hit during this entire game, but I hope they will take some comfort from the fact it has happened before! @Dying Probably suffered the same fate in Game 3 and @Handrejka too in Round 1 - sadly neither of those have so far taken part in a subsequent round, but fortunes can change gang! Don't give up! (I'll have further food for thought for Captain Hemlock in a previous game update too...) Finally, as I've mentioned before on this page, we are following an odd pattern of winning methods across the games so far! Game 1 was won by 3 Unique Picks. Game 2 was won by a Hit in Each Category. Game 3 was won by All 5 Hits in One Category. Game 4 was won by 3 Unique Picks. Game 5 was won by a Hit in Each Category. We'll see what happens when @BuffaloPhil picks the categories for Game 6! What a fun and ingenious game the Scavenger Hunt is - thanks for coming up with it @Bibliogryphon. I'll publish some updates on previous rounds progress in due course. Hope at least some of you find all this nonsense interesting!

1 pointOne to save for your own game, perhaps, as and when you win a round! It's a hell of a topic, I'll give you that. As a purveyor of Deathlist spreadsheets, I approve.

1 pointDon't know if @BuffaloPhil is interested in making this a theme, but I got a bit invested in making a list of people who have attended the Met Gala since 1948 and am now making a spreadsheet. Once done it will end up on a Google Docs. Edit - I'm invested in those before 1990 mainly because it was more old socialite types who attended and I discovered New York Times have an archive.

1 pointI found something interesting that may interest French people here. Madeleine Della Monica (Wiki), French egyptologist (born 1912) still alive and will be 112 this July. Her page is being edited many times by her granddaughter explaining that she is in good health. This is a photo of her (in the middle) taken in 2012 on the 100th anniversary of her birth. In the photo are her two friends Lucie and Jeanne, also born in 1912 https://www.calameo.com/read/0010581036cb4c78c318e Lucie died in 2013 a year later at 100 and Jeanne died in 2017 at 104. Madeleine was the oldest and survive them.
