With the recent debate over who should replace the (as it currently stands) 21 names to be dropped for next year's list, I would like to put forth a lesser-discussed, but nevertheless worthy, suggestion in the form of Philip Zimbardo. Zimbardo is best-known for the 1971 Stanford Prison Experiment, in which he himself partook as superintendent, which was aborted after just six of the fourteen days that it was supposed to go on for due to the experiment's highly psychologically abusive nature. His part in this would later make him a major commentator on the psychology behind the Abu Ghraib Prison Torture during the Iraq War when it came to light in 2004. As for his health, I was initially wary to suggest him as yet another random famous old person who could be on the list - which has proven not to be much of a winning formula this year thus far - but, for someone fairly active in his field, I cannot find any news on him since what appears to be his most recent interview in February 2023, where he looks quite like a geriatric Spock: He's one to watch for the future, certainly, and is definitely DLy enough to warrant his own place on the list.

Als het om leifde gaat for Sandra and Andres in 1972 and The Party's Over for Sandra Reemer in 1976, but highest finisher was Mouth and MacNeal's I See A Star which finished third in 1974:

Engagement farming/AI/bots makes research more difficult. I've stumbled a couple of times lately. But always checking the background behind an item can get pretty tedious. It used to be more fun. Dead internet theory...

The cast of the 1991 Addams Family reunited yesterday and although Carel Struycken (Lurch) has always been slim he looks rather jaundiced here.

Finally saw some photos taken during the annual Medal of Honor recipients convention including the annual group photo. Bruce Crandall, Tom Kelley and not sure who the one on the left is, are in wheelchairs but out of the three Crandall is the only one who truly stands out as frail (in another photo of him on instagram, his watch doesn't even fit his wrist!). Although Crandall is the oldest living recipient to my knowledge at 91, he was very active and going strong up to a year ago so it looks like he's had a sharp decline. Also, the absence of Jose Rodela despite the fact he actually lives in San Antonio where the convention was held, tells me his condition is bad enough that he's most likely unable to leave his home.

They'd be crazy to drop Whale and Nolan. They're in their 5th and 8th years respectively of having stage 4 cancer, with not even a hint of remission. It would be embarrassing to have a repeat of Shannen Doherty next year.

This somehow reminded me of the joke about a Catholic, a cartographer, a baseball player, and a mathematician all discussing something, but nobody actually knowing what the other was talking about. What were they discussing? Cardinals.

If he dies, some other even worse hardliner from his government will probably take the reins of power and start cracking down on any 'extremists' belonging to any political persuasion they don't like. I hope he lives for that reason.
