Are you sure you couldn't be tempted to put him and mango on it? I'm sure we could have a whip round if you're open to bribes.

I'm in favour of harsher immigration policies. On the other hand, I'm not much in favour of Russian dictatorial regime.

Clive Dunn died on this day 12 years ago, aged 92. - Dunn's actual first name was Robert, and he adopted 'Clive' as a stage name in his 20s. He was a cousin of actress (and DeathList alumnus) Gretchen Franklin. - Dunn's main acting schtick was that he would portray characters much older than he actually was- and when he was given the role of Lance Corporal Jones in Dad's Army, he was younger than some of his castmates (i.e. John Le Mesurier and Arthur Lowe). His catchphrase of "Don't panic, don't panic" would make its way into the British vernacular zeitgeist. - In 1971, Dunn released the novelty song "Grandad", which topped the UK Singles chart: This would lead to him getting a show of the same name, which ran from 1979 to 1984- this song also served as its theme. - In 1987, Dunn made history by debuting atop the first DeathList, and would go on to make 16 appearances between then and 2012- a record until surpassed by Kirk Douglas' 17th appearance in 2019. He's also been immortalized by this emoji you'll see when you post something someone else recently said in the same thread that you failed to spot-

Are you fucking insane? The result will not be clear by the time I get up for work at 6.30, it probably won't be clear by the time I leave work at 4pm. If you think you'll have a winner by 3am you're even more deluded than we already know you to be. And regardless of how late you stay up, stop spamming the thread with every little thought you have.

I, like a lot of people, have always valued The Old Crem's political insights, there's a reason he's known as the Lee Atwater of Deadpooling.

Trump wins. Dems are going to go pretty right wing in 2028 to have any chance of winning again. Just look at the massive Hispanic and black men backlash to the Dems on social and immigration policy. Suspect they will back his immigration policy and plenty of other things. Obviously that might not work.

Trump and Musk together on election night No wonder they need a convention centre, I'm assuming those two egos squeeze the other few thousand people into a corner: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9dlg1v7jevo

Queen Camilla is the correct style. Queen Consort is merely a description of rank, it's not a title or style. I wish the late Queen, or the Palace, had explained this at the time it was announced. Not doing so has led to misunderstandings. If the late Queen hadn't had the same name as her mother, we would have been used to the widowed consort being referred to as Queen Elizabeth, rather than Queen Mother.

I don't consider Jones a miss for the DL HOWEVER I see where the previous comments come from : frustration. Quincy was one of those real old, frail looking, top fame celebrity who you'd like to see on the list (as for Loren, Clive Davis, Berry Gordy, John Wiliams, or Georges Soros, A-listers that I suggested a few times recently). So I get how frustrating it is to see such a prominent figure die while being ignored by not only the DL but other pools and most users around here. Plus, it's somehow hard to justify how someone like Cheney has stayed on the list for 6 years in a row despite being less famous, younger and supposedly healthy, over a prominent 90 yo frail man. But again, there's only 50 spots to fill, that's right… A lot of A-listers have been consistently ignored around here (those quoted above and others like Maggie Smith looked frail for ages, Cissy Houston was said to be circling the drain for so long…) while others like James Earl Jones instantly became forum favorites and made it to everyone's list. Not that I mind, but it's somehow difficult to justify. See, for example, when Earl Jones die, various people called him a miss and everyone agreed. Not sure why calling Quincy a miss is more farfetched anyway, +8 for my shadow list. Ai no corrida anymore
