He will probably be on a lot of teams since he was a fan of Hawk Tuah Girl, and might have been one of the investors who got rug pulled. That could be a lot to handle emotionally at his age.

Burt. the main Crocodile in the film Crocodile Dundee, has died. He was estimated to be at least 90 years old. Sky News When I saw the headline Crocodile Dundee star dies I thought it was Paul Hogan who had died.

On behalf of everyone compiling a dead pool masterlist at this moment I'd just like to wish Jimmy Carter a merry Christmas and happy New Year.

One of the reasons I've put at least a temporary hold on voting in these. Stupid as it may be it's just depressing to see one person devoting all their energy to downvoting something like this and upvoting something just catchy or worse utterly slushy garbage. It do(es)n't impress me (much). They are entirely entitled to their opinion of course but it brings me no joy. In other news a member of my pool team deliberately put Last Christmas on the Jukebox last Thursday just to whammageddon and piss me off. That's him dropped in the new year, and likely for most of the rest of it too.

At this point there's clearly no redemption for the list. What 25 are to be kept next year? 1)Jimmy Carter 2)Dick Van Dyke 3)Pete Murray 4)Alan Greenspan 5)Cleo Laine 6)Noam Chomsky 7)Mel Brooks 8)Dennis Skinner 9)Stanley Baxter 10)Joanne Woodward 11)Clint Eastwood 12)Gene Hackman 13)Jean Marie Le Pen 14)Denis Law 15)Tom Brokaw 16)Norman Tebbit 17)Willie Nelson 18)Esther Rantzen 19)Roberta Flack 20)Prunella Scales 21)Raul Castro 22)Imelda Marcos 23)Buzz Aldrin 24)Sonny Rollins 25)Sandy Gall Some dangerous drops but not too many.

Word has it that Vivienne Johnson is older than her advertised age and had a bit of a spill earlier this year, however is fine and in good spirits. A possible pick for somebody this year? (Not me, as my teams are in!).

I agree with Ulitzer. People should not be wiped from history because of their transgressions.

Not necessarily - however he needs a new pair of shoes as the old ones have sloughed off in sympathy.

Weirdly I'm listening to last night (22nd) Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone on iPlayer and they've got her death as an item in the Six Music News.

Agreed. There's limited space for returnees so barring Attenborough (who is obvious imo) I'd rather they went for folk like Douglas Hurd or Liza Minelli instead.

Agree with YW that it was very well knitted together this year. However, also agree with CSB that there were far too many notable omissions. Should have been included: William Russell, Iris Apfel, Georgina Hale, Chita Rivera, Jonnie Irwin, John Savident, David Graham, Michael Jayston, Richard Lewis, M. Emmet Walsh, George Gilbey (Gogglebox), O. J. Simpson, Terry Carter, Morgan Spurlock, Roger Corman, Gudrun Ure, Dabney Coleman, Dario G, Simon Cowell, Francoise Hardy, Bill Cobbs, John Mayall, Abdul "Duke" Fakir, John Anderson (Gladiators referee), Richard Simmons, Roberta Taylor, Tomcraft, Bob Newhart, Ruth Westheimer, Gena Rowlands, Gavin Creel, Teri Garr, John Amos, Tony Todd, Duncan Norvelle, Jean Adamson

I wonder if it's false but started as a misunderstanding of a related story? A few days ago, one of Farrakhan's close friends and fellow Nation of Islam minister, Don Muhammad, died aged 87. One of the early obituaries mistakingly said he was 91 and it featured a picture of Farrakhan. The article in question was pulled, but it still appears on Google News when you search his name. I reckon someone shared this misinformation then it spread like wildfire, with a troll Twitter account also taking advantage of it.

Yeah guess I shouldn’t have bothered posting Rickey Henderson in the baseball thread 4 hours before it was officially confirmed either. Please note how I didn’t actually say dead and posted with a question mark, could very well be a hoax but I don’t discount it yet and think it’s worth people’s attention as we go into 2025.

You're not new here, you should know Thatcher has already weighed up the odds of its authenticity before posting. Do not patronise one of the greats. There are a few tweets saying he's dead. Hoax or not, time will tell.

Please drop this troll next year.

Good. Let's see most of the Boris Johnson awards binned as well, especially that dodgy Baroness. And Gavin fucking Williamson.
