Prolific crossword setter once popular with @time, Roger Squires reportedly dead: https://www.fifteensquared.net/2023/06/10/roger-squires-rip/

Last picked for the DDP in 2014 I believe @Death Impends, so List of the Missed: http://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2014/celebs_S.html#squiro

Former actor and magician also, so IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1533093/

Another cruciverbalist, Guardian, Times, Church Times, New Statesman, (though not - as far as I know - ever selected for the DDP) has died. Nutmeg, otherwise known as Margartet Irvine, aged 75. She had a fall last year, never completely recovered.

I must admit I began to think he was another prison faker.

All I need is a QO to also wrap up it's tribute to Shakur by saying he was greatly saddened by Tongos death in March and took a downturn thereafter ..

Another true tragic story from the hell hole we call The United States of America where freedom is for sale to the highest bidder, where guns are considered a necessity to live but Kinder eggs are too dangerous for kids. This, my friends, I consider the absolute low point....

One year old kid fatally shot by three year old kid....

Tragic....

Or as they say at the NRA, thoughts and prayers.....

John Uelses, the first athlete to clear 16 feet in the pole vault, has died at the age of 85, it has been revealed.

The American’s record-breaking jump of 16 feet ¼ inches (4.88 metres) at the Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden in New York City in February 1962 before a sell-out made headlines around the world and earned him a coveted spot on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
