Likewise, and to dispel thoughts otherwise, I make sure to listen to ALL the songs I don’t know (age has little to do with it, young master @DoltonMoneythey just never played them over here in the States) to get my initial reaction.  Of the lot, and there were quite a few I didn’t know aforehand (some good, some bad), there remain three truly awful songs, one of which is presently sitting atop the list.  I canna find a redeeming articulable quality in these choons.

 

As for Dizzy, I enjoyed this version.  Sad to see it go this early, but it wasn’t going to win. 

Lastly, there are two songs that are very formulaic; they are constructed almost identically.  Instruments, black women sings, some sort of rap, rinse-repeat.  One sounds like it was recorded, engineered, and mixed in a sound studio; has a decent enough rap verse.  The other sounds amateurish and recorded in someone’s living room.  Someone who hears them for the first time could pick up on this easily.  Someone who hears them for the umpteenth time and says the underproduced song is better is either deaf, or a relative of The KLF.
