That's my bet on it. @Brad252 posted this graph a few days ago: What I don't think got mentioned but I've seen since is that Labour strategists spotted the spike in the betting, and started spending money buying ad space and printing campaign literature. The Tories' greed and self-interest ended up giving their opponents a head start on Sunak's "surprise" announcement. And it's been going swimmingly ever since.
