Roger Moore is in the Brian Pern mockumentary this week, playing the narrator in Brian's overblown rock opera.

I always love the fact that Jenny Hanley was a Bond girl :D

Eta...I'm sure she had a stroke a year or two back, so one for the radar...

Just saw your post, indeed Jenny Hanley has suffered a few strokes

There's a death missing in this thread.

Back in April the guy who provided the voice for villain Emilio Lago in the movie Thunderball died. Robert Reitty whose voice you hear coming from actor Adolph Celi's mouth died April 3rd this year at 92 years old. Seems it it totally fitting to give him a place in its thread, and I'm sure you agree with me.

He's the only actor, besides Connery, to appear in both Thunderball and it's remake Never Say Never Again.

Also known for complimenting Michael Caine's Aston Martin ("Pretty car...") in the Italian Job before a bulldozer destroys it and lobs it over a cliff. The car (although being a DB4), being another James Bond link.

German actor Gottfried John, who played General Ourumov in Golden Eye, died yesterday of cancer aged 72.

http://news-round.co...ried-john-died/

I liked him in The Marriage of Maria Braun. I wonder how many male Fassbinder actors are still around. There're a lot of premature deaths among the cast of his films.

This question got my interest, I've seen several of Fassbinder's works. I tallied the following, from his first three films, from Wikepedia (insert veracity warning here):

Love Is Colder Than Death

  • Ulli Lommel (alive)
  • Hanna Schygulla (alive)
  • Rainer Werner Fassbinder (died 1982)
  • Hans Hirschmüller (alive)
  • Katrin Schaake (alive)
  • Peter Berling (alive)
  • Hannes Gromball (alive)
  • Gisela Otto (unknown)
  • Ingrid Caven (alive)
  • Ursula Strätz (unknown)
  • Irm Hermann (alive)
  • Les Olvides (unknown)
  • Wil Rabenbauer (died 2007)

  • Rudolf Waldemar Brem (died 2016)
  • Yaak Karsunke (alive)
  • Monika Stadler (unknown)
  • Kurt Raab (died 1988)
  • Thomas Hill (unknown)
  • Liz Söllner (unknown)
  • Howard Gaines (unknown)
  • Franz Maron (unknown)
  • Gottfried Hüngsberg (alive)
  • Wolfgang Gmoch (unknown)
Katzelmacher
  • Hanna Schygulla (alive)
  • Lilith Ungerer (died 2000)

  • Hans Hirschmüller (alive)

  • Harry Baer (alive)

  • Katrin Schaake (alive)
Gods of the Plague
  • Hanna Schygulla (alive)
  • Margarethe von Trotta (alive)
  • Harry Baer (alive)
  • Günther Kaufmann (died 2012)
  • Carla Egerer (alive)
  • Ingrid Caven (alive)
  • Jan George (alive)
  • Lilo Pempeit (died 1993)
  • Marian Seidowsky (unknown)
  • Yaak Karsunke (alive)
  • Micha Cochina (unknown)
  • Hannes Gromball (alive)
  • Lilith Ungerer (died 2000)

Then I got bored.

Hein

Rudolf Waldemar Brem died of lung cancer on March 17, 2016. I never heard of him.

Maybe this list should better be moved to the foreign-topic...

You still have a Bond villain Christopher Lee who will be reaching 83 this year but also seems to be in good health.

Roger Moore is closing in I think, he did go through surgery didn't he?

As for Connery, never, he will live forever.

Lois Maxwell or Miss Moneypenny is turning 78 this year.

Same with David Hedison who played Felix in a couple of Bond movie movies, turning 78 this year.

David Hedison turns 90 this year.

He's also the father-in-law of Jodie Foster.

Every time I hear about him or see him I cannot get that image out of my head of him, about to be eaten by a spider screaming 'Help me! Help me!!!! in a high pitched voice.... :)

And then later, he got mauled by a shark. Clearly he likes animal antics in his film roles.

Bloody hell. I'm a bit surprised at this. I know he was 89 but always seemed well, if increasingly frail.

He's my Bond. RIP 007

Big decision for newspaper editors tonight, similar to the "do 90 dead teenagers in Norway >>>> one Amy Winehouse" call they had to make a few years back.
