Pretty sure astronauts can’t have any genetic conditions that could affect them in space. Therefore they’re normally pretty healthy people.

Yeah, Buzz Aldrin saved his alcoholism for after splashdown!

From the BBC. Proof that all this supposed space travel is a con. A quote from a cosmonaut on his way to the non existent International Space Station: "It's a strange time to be travelling, but crew member Ivanishin said where they were going was the "safest place on earth" right now. "

Cute picture of Annie Glenn, John's widow at his service. She is wheelchair-bound, but looking pretty good for close to 97.

And now Annie Glenn is dead at 100

Why the fuck would this post get 4 crying face emojis?  Who cares about an astronauts widow’s cause of death?  (At all really)

45 minutes to go till the Spacex Dragon is about to lift off.

Just a question. If both men perish before orbit, are they still considered astronauts??

Dillema, Dilemma......

Edit

The launch was successful, they are astronauts now.

Just watched the fascinating Challenger disaster documentary on Netflix.

Many ex-astronauts featured look in good shape, although Richard Truly looks quite doddery now.

Larry Mulloy, effectively painted as the bad guy, doesn't look great but his boss, William Lucas, looks very well at 98.

Joe Kilminster, of Morton Thiokol, clearly has some Parkinson-related disease but his voice was relatively strong. Its surprising how many key players to the disaster, then in their mid 50s, are still going. Maybe karma for the seven who died early if you believe in that kind of thing.
