While looking up yesterday's birthday boy Jimmy Greenhoff, I discovered that the referee of that 1972 League Cup Final, and also the 1971 FA Cup final, Norman Burtenshaw, is still alive (unless he's died off-radar) at the age of 96.

Here's Norman Burtenshaw (who does seem so still be alive by the looks of various referee accounts on Twitter) in his post-refereeing profession of sweet shop owner. Lens cap in the hobos for some reason.

And yes, I was singing the Smurf song, in case you were wondering.

Maya Ruiz Picasso, born 1935, daughter of Picasso is still alive and the subject of an exhibition at the Picasso museum until december

Maya Ruiz Picasso dead at 87 !

Was recently on the News for her new acquisition of an apartment at 21 millions euros and she currently has an exhibition in display in the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Important (not huge though) and shocking News here : reminds me of Thierry Mugler Who suddenly died out of nowhere (and still without explanation)while an exhibition of his work was in display in the Musee des Arts Décoratifs de Paris.

Picasso has still two daughters alive

- Claude Picasso (b. 1947)

- Paloma Picasso (b. 1949)

they’re both the daughters of centenarian author and painter Françoise Gilot (b. 1921)

Mau Mau uprising field marshal Muthoni Kirima is still alive at 92. And she is so good she has two wiki pages: Muthoni Kirima and Muthoni wa Kirima. One page cites the other, so this must be the work of some authentic mental retard.

Japanese roboticist Masahiro Mori who identified the concept of Uncanny valley in 1970 is alive and 96 next month. Mentioned by Summer in Transylvania last year.

Bonus: British art critic, curator and art gallery director Jasia Reichardt who translated the term to English is also alive and 90 this year. As far as I know not mentioned here before.

Claude Zidi (b. 1934), french film director and screenwriter is still alive at 88. I thought he died years ago but that's probably because I'm mistaking him with Gérard Oury (1919-2006), another legendary film director of 70-80's french comedies. Zidi is a DDP pick this year.

Wow! American crooner/actor Ed Ames is still going at 95 and was 6'3" (1.91m) in his prime!

Also amazed Bess Meisler (Grandma from My Big Fat Greek Wedding) is still with us aged 100!

There are a lot of obscure actors and actress who are still with us over 90 and 100 but they don't have a Wiki page, plus their IMDb don't have a birth year.

You seem to have bought into this idea that tall people don't live long. That's not really true. Yes, there's a slightly higher chance that people (particularly men) who are considerably tall will die a few years before their shorter counterparts, but it's not as big a factor as you're letting on.

Christopher Lee lived to 93 and he was 6'5 (1.96m). Angus Scrimm (the actor in drol's display pic) was also around the same height and he lived  to 89/90.

If you're healthy and look after your diet, and exercise etc. then your circulation should be good. Therefore it's not difficult for these people to live to their 80s, 90s etc.

A lot of living centenarians won't have their heights on record but Philippe de Gaulle is 101 and he was 6'2 (Charles de Gaulle was 6'4).

Yes, occasionally there is the odd case where a gigantic person lives a long life. Clint Walker is another example (6’6”/198cm), he lived to 90. But generally celebrities over 190cm aren’t known to live as long as those under 180cm.

Clint Eastwood has been under six feet for a while now in his old age, so that might be helping him survive.

Just to add the obvious that gigantic/health issues tend to be linked to folk Giant Gonzalez size ie folk suffering from acromegaly, who wind up vast outliers. Just over 6 foot, which is the height of around 22 million Americans alone, isn't that far off average.

It seems a little too late.No way she will be deemed fit to stand trial and probably won't live long enough for a trial to even start.
