SA DJ and perennial cancer sufferer Mark Pilgrim dead at 53.

I dont know if I ever saw anyone lying to themselves as much as he did. He talked of recovery until the end. But then, what can one do. What would I do...

I always wonder the same.  Is being realistic ‘not fighting’ to recover?  Can one be both fighting their damndest AND realistic?  Maybe if one keeps saying they will recover they’ll begin to believe it.

Mark Pilgrim would’ve gotten a QO! His death got a mention on a BBC live feed

He was elected into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, the Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 2000, retiring from radio in 2007.

Dubstep producer Christine Clements, aka Vaccine, has died rather suddenly at 43:

I put it here because there's no real "electronic music" (that isn't pop) thread.

Don't tell the anti vaxxers that.  They will start telling everyone that they were right again

Many DDP hits bring a certain degree of sadness when they go (see McCallum, Gambon, Arrowsmith from the last update alone) so it's nice to counter that with a DDP hit that we can say "Good fucking riddance" to.

A dead paedo and I don't have to waste any energy writing about him is a win win situation. Just look at how little time I spent on the Barry Bennell obit!

Dunno where else to post this, just discovered that in 2008 Cherry Red Records saw fit to release a compilation of some of the dipshit pop abominations helmed by DJ, television personality...y'know, Mike Read. Doubtless in those hell-holes beyond normal jurisdiction where they laugh in the face of the Geneva Convention there is currently some whimpering individual, blindfolded and willing to tell all so long as the bastards holding him to account lay off on playing this album again!

Whenever I see him on Talking Pictures these days I think he looks as if he's been embalmed.

That CD does sound terrible.
