Its uses being dependent on the triple helix that make it Collagen. Although, the similarities between its use in sausage casing and leather manufacture are not always obvious, and it surprises people when told, there are many overlaps. Our primary process to treat the collagen is just an extension of leather manufacture, using the same technology and chemicals to prepare the hides. The whole process is based upon the pH swelling curve of collagen and although more extreme than in leather manufacture there are clear similarities. The shrinkage of the collagen is also critical, not in the same way as leather but the parallels are obvious as is the use of cross-linking agents to stabilise the collagen, these agents are just an extension of tanning agents. RadGuy 1,614 Posted April 27, 2019 Just wanted to say I'll officially be attending my local community college, Harper, for the next two years. I got accepted to some universities but it's all much too expensive. Plus, this buys me extra time to think about a career choice. After Harper, hopefully I'm off to study and live in Florida.
TQR 14,391 Posted April 28, 2019 I'm spending my afternoon writing a cover letter and job application for a job I almost certainly have somewhere between fuck all and shit all chance of getting. I've got to Dear Sirs so far, taken a call from my current place of work, watched yesterday's Formula E, and now I'm idly nosing around on here, so it's going blindingly well so far. 1

TQR 14,391 Posted May 18, 2019 This is the first time I've felt properly woe-free since January. I'm gradually getting hammered and taking the piss out of everyone on Eurovision with some equally hammered mates. It's a pleasant evening.

TQR 14,391 Posted May 18, 2019 Fair play to Madonna. She’s 60 years old and has let her wardrobe department impair her depth perception, and yet she still made it down all those steps without incident.
