msc 18,438 Posted May 23, 2023 Personally, I for one am glad that a cool detached young American is writing the DDP obits now, and not someone like me likely to mention how he RUINED A GENERATIONS CHILDHOOD MEMORIES THE TRAITOROUS NONCE BASTARD FUCK HIM TO HELL. 5

An American writing Rolf and a non-wrestling fan writing Superstar. Shades of Phil Spector being an obit from you and not me. 1

Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted May 23, 2023 My childhood remains unruined, as I much preferred Stay Tooned! with Tony Robinson to Rolf's Cartoon Club when it came to Sunday afternoon filler.

Well, now it was his turn to have a problem with a dodgy ticker and he didn't make it through the night. 1
Slackhurst Broadcasting 374 Posted May 23, 2023 Looks as if he actually had died when the mystery van came, and his family have managed to cover it up and have the funeral without publicity.

On the Yew Tree nonce scale he is probably mid way between Jimmy Savile and Dave Lee Travis.

YoungWillz 21,033 Posted May 23, 2023 I think the stars were aligned with this one. The recent deaths of Mary Parker (appeared with him in You Lucky People!) and Dougie Squires (Young Generation choreographer - they appeared on The Rolf Harris Show) heightened my sense he was dead and that we were just awaiting confirmation. My parents saw him at Lytham St Annes on their honeymoon in the early 60s. Now he's a hit for me on the DDP and many pools.
TQR 14,386 Posted May 23, 2023 In an exceptionally rare move, The Sun have reported this almost perfectly. No “disgraced former TV entertainer” or any drivel like that. “Paedo”. The only way they could’ve done better is put a cry-laughing emoji at the end. 5

Because he was already dead for a day when you posted it, and all of the "that's a sign he's dead" posts were actually right. For once!
ladyfiona 2,577 Posted May 23, 2023 Having met him while working in NHS few years ago for an appointment he had. He was annoyingly charming. Even a few years ago he was ill and had a carer because I kept speaking to her over the phone to change his appointment.
