Sir Creep 7,070 Posted December 7, 2016 Sad to hear of Peter Vaughan dying. 2016 has certainly overstayed its welcome. Got to meet him when I was 8 along with the rest of the cast of Citizen Smith. Enjoyed watching him in Porridge too. Oh well, he had a good innings. I don't recall him so much from the shows mentioned but definitely from "The Remains of the Day" which is one of my favorite films. RIP SC
CoffinLodger 1,248 Posted December 7, 2016 well he was 93.I'm surprised he's never been on the list ! I thought he would have made a good addition to the 2017 list but sadly it wasn't meant to be. Another fine character actor gone but I'm glad that he had a long life and he ended his career with a great performance in Game Of Thrones. Now will the committee finally decide to include Geoffrey Bayldon for next year? Roughly the same age and an equally long repertoire of film/TV appearances. Also Tony Britton from Robin's Nest fame. He's 92 and hasn't been active for years

Yes, afaik, though according to Wikipedia, there have been 3 Beakys & 3 Micks, so things will get complicated when they start to go.

There's a passable chance CSNY will go in name order, though the winsome and generally healthy looking Graham Nash might scupper that. Crosby and Stills have porked out in the wake of significant drug problems; so likely to be first off the stage

time 8,624 Posted December 12, 2016 The Queen's cousin, Margaret Rhodes, has died aged 91. She often showed up as a talking head in documentaries about Libby, iirc she was one of the people the then Princess Elizabeth snuck out of Buckingham Palace with to enjoy the VE day celebrations in London, allegedly. Another of the Queen's bridesmaids, Lady Elizabeth Longman died on Thursday aged 92. The Daily Royal helpfully informs us that there are only 2 still alive, Lady Pamela Hicks, aged 87, and the whippersnapperish Princess Alexandra, who will be 80 on Christmas day.
